My love, respect and appreciation for MMA is growing!
They don't duck eachother,
They can't avoid eachother,
No BS sanctioning organizations,
No promoter politics,
No pursebids,
No issues with venues,
No trumped up records,
No refs cutting i too soon,
Unbeaten records mean zilch,
Intense action, Blood, gore, bones-snapping, toes stiffening...
How long can boxing survive?
Does any avid boxing fan feel this way??

You talk about UFC fighters can't duck each other? Right. But fighters in MMA can, where's the fight with Fedor and Lesnar?
Theres not the same history in MMA for the 0 to mean something.
Promoter politics? The two sports are organized completely different.
But refs cutting in too soon? I can tell you one thing, there has been no deaths in MMA - YET! But look how many brain injuries boxers have suffered, how many boxers has died? Then talk about cutting in too soon? Yeah some might be over protecting, but what do you want? Some boys ending up injured?
Intense action, Blood, gore, bones-snapping, toes stiffening...
Oh you want to see them look at each other? If you love boxing you love the beauty of footwork, straights, hooks, and BODY shots which is clearly missing in MMA. You don't love boxing, you're just a guy who likes blood thats all.
lol at MMA fighters not "ducking each other"
Fedor vs Cotoure
Fedor vs Lesnar
Machida vs Silva
Silva vs Diaz
Diaz vs GSP
Shogun vs Liddel
and the list goes on and on and on
MMA is worse. Just picture what Bob Arum/Top Rank is doing to boxing "Can't fight my fighters unless you're a free agent or in Top Rank", but on a larger scale. Plus MMA fighters get paid way less. You'll never see the most popular MMA boxer earn a guaranteed $15-20Mill. Compare what boxing's cash cows are guaranteed for 1 fight to what MMA's cash cows are guaranteed and then you tell me who's dying again. The middle-earners of boxing make more money per fight than the biggest draws in MMA.
Outside of the bolded I agree. I enjoy intense action just as much as the next person, but I dont watch boxing for the EXTREME BLOOD AND GUTS BONE BREAKING BRAAAAAAAH, I watch it for the scientific 1-on-1 competitiveness between two men's wills

Beautifully said sometimes I wonder if people on here actually understand Boxing.
What the UFC is doing to the sport of MMA is way worse than Boxing's problems today.......
The UFC is the reason these MMA fighters are making money. Where the **** would this sport without the UFC? MMA died in Japan and the money was never where it is today in the UFC.
The UFC is the reason guys like GSP are sponsored by Gatorade.

The UFC is the reason MMA is getting sanctioned in different states throughout the U.S. and Canada. The UFC actively is expanding the sport around the world. Yeah no **** they want all relevant MMA fighters under their promotion. Why wouldn't they want that? You're out of your ****ing mind if you think MMA would be in a better place without the UFC.
stop being such a little woman. the point was that me and him prefer to watch the grappling aspect of mma, since their standup is comparatively inferior to a strictly striking sport.(which were used to)
Its still a silly "obvious" comment. You could make that case in just about any discipline for a given fighter that is used in MMA. There are tons of examples of comparatively inferior Ju-Jistu techniques to competitors in the ADCC World submission tournaments used in MMA all the time.
Also last time i checked striking as a whole in MMA how more to do than just boxing. MMA is the sport of fighting, not the sport of punching.

Boxing has more history and it is more of an international sport that has been here for a long time. The MMA has evolved to its own thing and picked what is good for there sports. In the beginning the only two no no's were biting and eye-gouging. Now it has its rules and gets sanction by a lot of states.
It can be compare cause it is part of the fight game but it is good that they do their own thing.
Boxing is here to stay and will continue to strive as long as hit keeps getting new stars
Wow what a revelation. The boxing techniques of MMA fighters look amateurish compared to professional boxers.
Whats the next revelation? Brock Lesnar's Judo techniques look amateurish compared to Olympic Judo competitors?

me, I personally prefer fighting in the clinch and ground and pound type of sceanrios the most in mma matches, since you wont find that in any other sport.
I know what you mean
When you're a big boxing fan an watch boxers and their technique, then you watch a UFC fight and their standup looks amateurish compared to boxers

Bad kicks LOL you do realize those guys are all Black belts and pro Kickboxer/Muay Thai fighters right?
no, predominatly mma is made up of grapplers. black belts dont mean jack **** unless given out by an adept teacher. the professional kickboxers/muay thai fighters are good however.
kicks have a lot of drawbacks to them. the striking level in boxing and K1 is way higher than mma(apart from a few rarities), its pretty obvious.
you only throw elbows at close range, and theyre generally(almost always) grappling at that point.
the kicks in mma are generally pretty crappy too, although of course there are a few guys adept at it.
kicks are in many cases bad ideas in mma, and also kickboxing. they have a lot of drawbacks.
wish they allowed kicks to the head like in Pride though.

Why is this in the boxing forum? It should be moved to the mma section. Nothing wrong with all the reasons you love mma, but it has nothing to do about boxing.:boxing:
Ugh comparing Boxing to MMA isn't about boxing? Ugh ok how do you fugure?
Yes Boxers are better at Kicking and throwing elbows despite never training one day to do that in their lives LOL!
