vitali buzzed solis with a good punch and solis lost his legs for a second and because he's such a fatazz his knee collapsed under all that unsupported weight.
This^^^
and also add that if vitali buzzed him that early that it was only a matter of time and he would have knocked him out but I really would have liked to see it. people saying that solis would have beat Vitali on what they saw are just stupid.
In these two Vids you can see clearly that Klitschko knocked Solis down and that he clearly hit him very hard. Afterwards, Solis was unable to keep any body control.

You can even clearly HEAR Klitschko's punch at 00:08 seconds:

it was mostly the knee injury. he didnt get hit that flush.
still should be called a TKO win for Vitali, regardless.
If it was a knee injury. But I agree with everything you said.
I've watched the replay over and over and I personally don't believe that Vitali's little punch (which barely skimmed the top of Solis' head) carried enough power to have such an effect - Vitali's reaction speaks for itself on this. He was totally stupefied and accused Solis of having dived. And people can't exactly act as though they know Vitaly's power... more than vitaly himself.
What I think is more plausible is that Solis got a little reckless, threw a really bad punch, lost his balance and simply messed up his leg. Either that or he dived. I mean, did you see his face afterwards? Not a trace of anger or regret. Fat boy was glad to get out. He would have been battered for the remainder of the fight and knocked out anyway.
Dude, I could've written this myself. People keep saying it was a "temple shot". The temple is not located at the top of the head! Vitali's punch might've had enough on it, had it landed on Solis's temple. Who knows? But the fact is that the blow hit Solis well above his temple. No way that punch hurt "SpongeBob." If Solis indeed hurt his leg/knee, it might've happened as he was backing up after the punch.

In my opinion it's closest to the last option you gave but not that exactly. I don't think he would have gone down IF he didn't hurt his knee.
I see, so the final result would be option 2 (in regards to how it should be ruled), minus the "punch was nothing" bit.
