but the referee still skewed the fight for B-Hop
it's not about the fans, it's about the officiating and card scoring, that's what carries Ward through and let's be real, he'll get away with what he wants to v Abraham too
how so? he didn't let hopkins fight on the inside at all. even when hopkins had hands free and was trying to do work he would seperate them. obviously resetting the action heavily favors calzaghe because he's a mid range fighter who can't fight on the inside at all. he effectively took away half of hopkins fight game. hopkins likes to clinch to buy time sometimes but that's what separates a good ref from a bad ref. breaking them up at the appropriate times. cortez just breaks fighters up whenever they get close. he sucks.
it's not about "crossing borders" it's about what the crowd is like. Calzaghe came to america to fight bhop but it was like a home fight for him with 95% Zag fans in the audience.

if froch had homecourt advantage all through out the super6, would he be undefeated as well?
Good question.
Sorry - Kessler beat him clearly, he wouldn't even be undefeated through the second round of the pre fights :D
So did Direll, it wasn't pretty but he won that fight.
probably, but it depends on the judges. He likely would have gotten the nod over Dirrell and Kessler now that he had home court advantage.
knowing NSB, this is a dig at Ward. None of Ward's wins would have changed whatsoever no matter where the fights were fought, although I would prefer for him to fight abroad at this point.

Will Ward need to get a visa or....?
probably.
Ward hasn't had a close super six fight though, pure domination in his two fights.
Froch had two close fights.
Also, I do believe Abraham will have a ton of fans in Carson, 6 hours away from Ward's hometown of Oakland.
Will Ward be ok crossing the border, do you think?
like others, I had dirrel over Froch.
Ward is the most overrated fighter in the world right now, based on accomplishment. I see him on all kinds of pfp lists.

certainly would have, froch vs kessler was for me a 52-48 fight or 51-49 fight in the favour of kessler. because of them fighting in demark, it gave kessler a bigger win and added a few points. if the fight was in england, imo froch would have won the decision
would love to see a rematch, froch had a broken ear which affected his balance, no excuse, it was legit injury, i think froch would win the rematch

Aw c'mon. No way in Hell was that fight clearly won by either fighter. On the night I had Kessler winning, but on second viewing I had Froch winning. The homecourt advantage definately played a part and always will in a fight that close.
It's quite possible that Froch would have got the decision had the fight been in the UK, but that's just how it goes. I felt Dirrell beat Froch, although I have absolutely no sympathy thanks the manner in which he fought, so it's probably fair that Froch got a close one go against him.
Yes.
Most of the rounds in the Kessler fight were very close. With that said, I believe the judges would have saw them in favour of the home fighter...I had Froch winning, but losing to Dirrell.
