The Yuri who showed up to the Wolak fight was nothing like Yuri before,
He had a major surgery and he was rushing back too soon into fighting.
His knee clearly didnt recovered, so he didnt have his signature movement.
he just stayed there not moving, not punching.
Before anything his leg needs to recover fully if it possible
He relied on footwork and quick combo's, once his knee went, it takes alot of confidence out of you.
He also had no power, I think if his knee was 100% he "could" of had a chance of out pointing Cotto.
1st Israeli world champion though got to be proud of that.
:slap:
Yuri won one round and Cotto was in complete control of the fight after he got tagged the second time in the fourth round.
It's not so much that he's over, he just has to rethink his career. He was also never great to begin with.
Cotto could have done what Wolak did, he just had to look more impressive than Wolak ended up looking in a fun, but very..... unorthodox style.
Nonetheless, Foreman will have problems if he doesn't have his legs. Without those wheels, his lack of power will always be his downfall.
Let's be real, Yuri Foreman overachieved. He has nothing to be sad about. He has no power, minimal boxing skills, average speed, and he became world champion. He also gained a pretty damn decent following. He can call it a day, because I can't even see him being much of a challenge to anyone at this point. With all due respect, if you can't beat Pawel Wolak, it's time to find another career. He has great stories to tell his grandchildren though.

cotto ruined him..cotto ended his career at the top..yuri was bound for atg status. or was it that fight scene on fighting where he hit his head on the water fountain..that mightve been the begining of the end
I didn't hear that he was retiring. Has it been reported?? I saw his interview where he said that he realised that he fought the wrong fight, that he toughed it out instead of boxing, and that he was going to rethink his tactics, and regroup, etc.
That was only about a week ago and there was no sign that he was retiring.
I would say over, but he is facing some adversity. Maybe he will just focuss on being a rabbi. If he wants to continue boxing he has a long way back to the top. He definetly needs a string of good wins before getting back into the title picture. Too bad, I liked the guy,.
