A few odd things about Sergio's ring attire this past Saturday:
1) The word "Ronan" is stitched quite prominently on both legs of his trunks. I looked up the term, and it mean's "little seal" in celtic language. Does anyone know why he has this written on his trunks?
2) Also, it looks like he was wearing red Nike Machomai shoes with either a custom design or with an aftermarket material (black in color) added to cover up the "swoosh." Was this done to protect his sponsorship with Everlast, or for some other reason? Maybe because Everlast doesn't make a red version of the lockdown hi boots that he normally wears, or...? Surely Everlast could make a custom shoe for Sergio Martinez...
I got BIGGER news involving Chino that's gonna suck April 9th his team wasn't too happy but couldn't do anything about it
seriously? can you tell us what news if it's no problem for you
thx for the update, that pretty much sucks, i noticed how much Adidas is used over here that's why I asked ^^

some countries commissions have to approve gloves before use like for example Canada just barely approved our line two years ago for use. In European countries Adidas is a big company and a big presence.
the guy in your sig cannot use Everlast in his home country he has to use Corti gloves which he hates.

I do remember seeing Emmanuel and Miguel trying on the gloves and Steward saying something to the effect of, "Well, if those are the ones that you're more comfortable with, we'll use those." Not sure how much of that was for the cameras...
Steward's not a big fan of ours from the Taylor days but he still doesn't realize we have 3 (techincally 4) models of gloves now and not just the one we rocked for years and years
Cotto swears by the MX and has said he will retire wearing that glove
Thanks for clearing up the Martinez / Everlast question. It seems as though Everlast could make signature models of shoes, maybe one or two of the top guys (Pacquiao, Cotto, etc.) and offer those to the general public. From a business standpoint, I have no idea how cost effective that would be, but the shoes would probably sell out in no time. I've got a million questions, but it seems as though there isn't much interest in the equipment side of boxing on here (hence the sarcastic responses).
we have two base models of shoe the leather hydrolast shoe cotto wears and the regular suede model Arreola wears
from there we have a hi and low top
I do think we could use one more model but it's difficult trying to get new models to launch

why do European boxer use different boxing gloves from Everlast all the time?

hey man i noticed that Cotto doesn't use Reyes gloves anymore, and this is after steward came along i think, did he get an exclusive deal with everlast now? cuz I know his everlast gloves have his logo with the wings on there and everything....
we have a great working relationship with Miguel as we take care of his promotional company in terms of his fighters and his fight cards
when we came out with the MX glove we targeted Cotto and after a few revisions we finally have a glove that we feel surpasses the Reyes in terms of damage inflicted while still being somewhat protective.
we showed Miguel for the Foreman fight and loved them so he asked to make custom ones for him for that fight. We made white with Yankee blue. For this fight we made black with silver (same color scheme we made for Perro) with his logo.
this at the disapproval of Steward who still thinks we only have one model and did not want Miguel using an Everlast glove. Two KOs later I think we are good lol.
we also make custom shoes for him upon occasion.
Here are the ones he wore for Pacquiao

he doesn't have a sponsership with Everlast only a working relationship.
and we make custom shoes for guys like Cotto and PWill so I am pretty sure we would if he requested
as for Ronan I could only assume it was a sponser who paid for the space being used

You guys are morons. The guy is asking a legit question.
Anyways, "Ronan" was on his trunks in dedication to his closest partner, Irish singer and sex icon Ronan :
Beat me to it..

He knows a kid called Ronan who goes to a gym he was using and he was unable to attend the fight because he was having his tonsils out, hence the design on his shorts
