I think this is whats going wrong with boxing....Someone fights a tough fight then have six months off then when they are ready to fight again, they say because of the fight six months ago they deserve an easy fight...Stupid logic...FIght the bext, why even have rankings if you don't fight the next in line or the next availiable in the ranking....:killyou:
with the exception of the regularity (which has changed in boxing period) he is doing what guys like Ray Leonard did as well
for every Hearns there was a Larry Bonds for every Duran fight there was a Bruce Finch
back then they were called stay busy fights and that, IMO, is what Martinez is doing since there doesn't seem to be a big fight at 160 right now
Am sure he can find some decent Comp at 160 or 154 other than the names that is being put out....

I'm not really into that "he deserves a soft touch" sh!t. If a guy's been facing top opposition and then faces an easier opponent, I'll be less critical, but I'm not going to support taking easy fights when guys are fighting 2-3 times a year.
It's not like they're J.C. Chavez or James Toney in the early 90s, champs fighting 6-10 times a year.
