I dont think so or else they wouldnt have requested a catchweight.
There is a good chance that they will fight again at 147 no catchweight. Are you willing to put up all your points for Cotto if the fight happens? ALL YOUR POINTS man.
Can someone list all of Pacs catchweight fights.
You gotta admit there is always the "what if" question in Pac's latest victorys.
Cotto & Marg fights from what i remember
I get it, I just think in the big scheme of things it's the same result. It's just something for people who will discredit Pacquiao's win to cling on to as either an excuse or to make Pacquiao and his team look bad as if they couldn't beat him at 147.
Cotto's still my favorite fighter, but I can't hold a candle to the catchweight. In my eyes, he lost fair and square. It also doesn't help the cause when Cotto himself said he made the weight with no problems and felt great...even after the loss.
I think he looked in the best shape for that fight. I think we all make a bigger issue of the weight especially when in his very next fight he ought Clottey and let him weigh a full 147.
I also think we anti pac fans have a problem accepting that he is the shot caller now
FYI im not a Floyd fan by far
you arent getting it
I think cotto at 147 or if they fought now at 154 still gets owned by manny
but I think it was crap that they made him go down to 145.
they want all the advantages and money talks so anyone will do whats asked for that kind of payday

So Cotto making 147 would eliminate Pacquiao's speed, power, combinations, movement, consistency?

doesnt mather, one or two are enough
Sugar Ray Leonard won the 1st ever Super Middleweight title in a catchweight fight when he made Donny Lalonde come down to 168, AND Lalonde STILL had to defend his Light Heavyweight title. Who really makes light of it today? Is Leonard not a HOF? Is he not regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time?
Out of Pacquiao's entire career, his career is now in shambles because of two catchweight fights (in which one he was outweighed by 17lbs the night of the fight)? Ok.....
yeah you're right that 1 pound really hurt cotto weighing in at 146 then losing a whole pound to 145 damn that one pound would have ko'd pac in 3 or less.
if it was really just one pound then why not let him weight 147 that is just one pound from 146
so according to your logic
whats one pound right?
I want to believe that the extra two pounds contributed to his demise, but the fact is, he brought his shotgun to a fight involving uzis.
Sure, the shotgun has the power, but by the time it lets off, you're peppered by uzis and left dazed and confused.
He lost his composure after the flash knock down and went to reclaim those points and took hits in the fourth that totally got him out of the fight. He had good moments after the fourth, in the later rounds, but at that point, it was too late.
your logic here is flawed in the same manner that your use of shotgun/uzi analogy is flawed, sir.
Many law enforcement people will readily dispute your shotgun/uzi theory. Do you know why in the Vietnam era the shotgun was the weapon of choice by point men in recons?

Here's the list of his catchweight fights that I know of:
Rustico Torrecampo @ 111 - Pacquiao weighed 112 and lost
Miguel Cotto @ 145
Antonio Margarito @ 150
edit: sorry made a mistake

No one has to admit anything. Pac was the better man that night REGARDLESS of weight. Are catch weight fights stupid? Yes they are. Could he have won without the catchweight. OBVIOUSLY yes.
