Mayorga looked better than i expected

I really dont think Mayorga (i hope anyway) hasnt retired, maybe it was a spur of the moment thing because he'd lost and broken his thumb? Did he really only get 50k for fighting cotto?

Sure, He was fighting a torn cotto.. If that was the 2007 Cotto Mayorga wouldnt have lasted 7 rounds. I think Cotto is just more of a boxer now and he picks his punches a lot more so the fight inevitably lasted longer, i think the talk got to cotto a little bit as well.

If that was the 2007 Cotto Mayorga wouldnt have lasted 7 rounds. that's hard to say. cotto of today is probably not as good as pre-margo cotto but i think the way the fight went should be attributed to how well-prepared mayorga was, not much on how "shot" cotto was.

It was his last chance he probably trained harder than ever before, good showing by Mayorga but Cotto just had too much class....

Mayorga didnt look bad but he is very open and vulnerable. gets hit a ****load of times

Not bad for a 38 year old brawler. He always puts up exciting fights tho, win or lose. Props to Mayo for that but it's time to hang up the gloves. yeah, he probaly should hang them up. but that mayorga would still give most of the 154 lbers trouble imo.

Mayorga still has it. The guy is one tough dude and he really trained hard for this fight.

I gave Mayorga two rounds and called 3 even, the rest to Cotto. Mayorga did ok but I think that was his last stand.

I thought he would be week and weight drained. I like Cotto but this fight was tougher than it was supposed to be. Too bad Mayorga retired, coming off this showing, he could still make a splash if he remained active. Imagine Mayorga against Kirkland.

really wanted Mayorga to win that fight Cotto victory looks better since Mayorga fought well Cotto took most of the rounds but had some trouble it wasn't the easy win it was supposed to be yeah, i was rooting for him too. i thought mayorga will gas for sure the way he was fighting the first few rounds.
