Would you say that age 33 Julio Cesar Chavez getting stopped by DLH, wasn't past his prime, just because he was still in his early 30s? Early 30s is actually a pretty common age for a boxer to become past prime, some defy it like Martinez/Hopkins/Mosley/Mayweather/Klitschko's/JMM, most are already a shadow of their former selves by that age.

I just think mike should be more respectful to 2 guys that are putting it on the line. That was no sparring match bro, mayorga knew this was his last fight. He put more effort than ever into it.

Tyson has no room to talk about ****ty fights, after the douglas fight he put on countless bum fight mismatches and embarrassing loses. Drunk? He swore to god he has been sober for 2 years now.

It wasn't so much as disrespectful was it was his honest opinion. When you made a living out of decapitating grown men, you tend to have an easier time sharing your thoughts. Regardless, do I completely agree with him? No. Mayorga is done, but Cotto could have a couple more fights left in him. However, it's still a valid opinion, considering that Cotto has seen better days and Mayorga even acknowledged it was time to retire.

First of all, he was drunk. Not that that's any excuse for bein' an @sshole. I thought that what Tyson said was pretty cunty. Sounded like sour grapes from a jealous used-to-be.

Cotto also never quits in fights...unlike... This was a good fight and a good performance by Cotto. Boxing fans are so bitter and angry about everything. Everyone's a 'bum/washed up/the sport is hurting yada yada yada. Two good main events tonight and people want to rip on Cotto for putting on an action fight.

Look, besides the fact that cotto is still young, and has under 40 fights lets look at his records. 2 loses. 1 loss to a guy with brick hands, the other to what many people call #1 p4p fighter in the world, who also weight drained cotto. Looked not so great against clottey but hey clottey is tough to look good against, even pac couldnt hurt him badly. I understand where you are coming from 100 percent, I do. I just think you were easily offended by Tysons opinion - but I don't want to argue that because that's really a subjective discussion. We can argue the prime situation though where many talent fighters with not to many fights under their belt found their careers cut short because of too many tough fights. I realize cotto has only lost twice but the 2 losses were very bad and he had it REALLY bad again'st Clottey. He also fought and took MANY punches in a action packed fight against hard hitters Ricardo Torrez and Zab judah. All of these fights took a little something out of him. To be fair, I think cotto has 1 big fight left in him before he should play it safe - depending on the type of fight it is of course.. and if he comes out unscathed or not.

Cotto right now has a lot more left then post prison Tyson.
