I absolutley think it was fixed. Cotto doesn't have one punch KO power and Mayorga wasn't even hurt from the punch he made it look like he was hurt from his hand. On the replay it didn't show what could've caused his hand to hurt. And after the fight his hand looked fine when he was shaking Cottos hand and hugging him.
Then Mayorga said this was his last fight. Meaning if he threw the fight it wouldn't matter because his career is over and he might as well put everything he has that Cotto would win by KO in the 12 round.
That left hook did look fixed!!!! FIXED TO TARGET AND DESTROY HIS CHIN BIIIIATTTCH!!!!! OH AND ALSO HIS THUMB! :slap:
Explains why Cotto approached Mayorga after the fight all hugs and kisses, he was in on it!
and that is why Mayorga said quietly to Cotto that he didn't mean all those things he said before the fight ..... called it all part of the pre-fight hype.... Right?
If this was all planned Mayorga wouldn't have to explain himself to Cotto.

I can't believe I'm gonna lend credence to this but....
Weirdest part of the whole thing was that according to Keith Kizer of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Mayorga's purse was 50k. I would go as far as to say it's literally impossible....even with a good % on the ppv upside, a 50k guarantee is ridiculous and impossible.
Not saying the fight was fixed, I'm sure it wasn't, but I found the whole purse thing very weird...even weirder after the ending.
ThereYou have to question the injury to his arm/wrist/hand since that is why Mayorga ended the fight. He got hit with a very good left hook, but he quit because of the injury.
He was extremely hurt. That's why he quit. He was wobbled into the corner after the kd.
There was 1 min 30 seconds left in the fight. If it was just his thumb, he woulda kept going.

ya man, i tell everyone watch that mosley fight, he walks out like a damn zombie and takes a lunging left hook.
This fight, the toughest SOB in the world, runs into the corner and says no more.
This ish is really suspect. And being its in the 12th, its the perfect back up plan. He wins by KO early, he gets a huge paycheck, if not, take your beating go down in the 12th.
If u think that thumb crap was legit, there's no reason to continue this discussion. Mayo got demolished by that left hook. He was clearly hurt. When he got up he got wobbled by a jab.
the impact to mayorga's chin evidently transferred down to his hand and caused an inury... didn't know that was possible, but stranger things have happened
Mayo was on his way to sleep land after that left hook landed. It was a matter of time. The right side of his face is a magnet for left hooks.
There was nothing wrong with his wrist or thumb. He just didn't want to finish on his back looking up at the lights.
He took that shot all night with no problem, and took much worse for trinidad and Hoya.
If you think Mayorga is the type to run in the corner and quit when he can still walk, rewatch his fight with Trinidad.
sequence of events
1. mayorga is about to fight in mma and is pulled out at the last minute by don king
2. mayorga lands a cotto fight out of nowhere(king and arum suddenly best friends)
3. mayorga suspiciously quits with a phantom injury in the 12th
4. mayorga announces his retirement from boxing
an easy win for cotto and a big payday/retirement fund for mayorga. everyone wins right? cept the fans but fukk them they are stupid anyway.
King didn't have him pulled out the MMA fight, He shut the entire event down!
King is like Pachino in the Devils Advocate. People don't realize the crap hes been involved in.
Not to mention on the books he only paid Mayorga 50 grand. I guarantee the reason Mayorga tried leaving him was for money owed off the books in the first place.
I'm telling ya, 12 rnd tko was there back up plan, just like Mayorga fight with Mosley.
