According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, when Ricardo Mayorga is taking punches from Miguel Cotto tonight, 90% of his purse will go to promoter Don King. Mayorga's purse was reported to the Nevada Athletic Commission as $500,000 but when he signed for an MMA fight in late 2009, King went to court and won a lawsuit against Mayorga. Mayorga signed for the MMA fight after King stopped getting him fights for over a year, but when King went to court, the MMA fight never happened. As a result of the lawsuit, the Las Vegas newspaper reports that King will take $450,000 as payment on the judgment, leaving Mayorga with $50,000 to split up among his trainer, cutman, manager and himself. Cotto is listed as making $1,000,000 for tonight's pay-per-view event. -Scott Shaffer

500,000 dollars isn't a bad amount. Mayorga is making a solid amount but owes a lot of money. He's an idiot and it's biting him in the ass. I am not sure about the 1 million amount for Miguel though. I also have heard about the 2 million minimum. Maybe it's strictly for HBO fights he makes that. This makes me wonder about what kind of pay cut Manny is getting for his fight with Mosley.
Hey the man's gotta eat. Over a year without a fight and he needed a payday. Fact is, King is and always has been a greedy mother****er.

I dont know if i buy this article. I doubt Mayorga would fight for that little amount and from what i have read before Cotto has a stipulation in his contract with Top Rank that he has to make at least 2 million per fight.
