Carl Froch always complaining about his fights not being televised in Britain?

WOW that is great news!I read somewhere that the boss of Sky Sports made a promise that Froch's next fight will be televised, after being impressed with his performance against Abe. Ah, here we go http://www.cable.co.uk/news/sky-sports-boxing-chief-keen-on-carl-froch-rights-800266533/

His fights have been primarily on Primetime which is a random PPV channel that no one knows about. The Taylor fight was not on tv at all. They showed the Taylor fight on ITV4 the next day on replay.

His fights get shown on Primetime. (A sh*tty channel that you have to pay for that nobody knows about) Sky Sports (The UK's main and really only sports channel) never backed him liek they have with Calzaghe, Hatton, Haye and Khan in recent years, for some reason.

Yeah Mick said Froch was done with ITV because they wouldnt give him enough money, i think he also said something about Froch being to big for ITV. Most of Froch's lack of fame is because of bad management by Hennessy. Froch really needs to dump Hennessy after the super six over, its actually pretty shocking the limited exposure he had considering the run hes is on, compared someone like Haye, even Audley makes more column inches.

Probably because of the way he acted to Calzaghe, Khan and some other British guys. We don't like that over here, you got to support your own or it alienates you. Thats crap, Froch wanted to fight Calzaghe but had no profile in the media and still really doesn't, so what do you do? He did what any boxer does and that's mouth off to anyone that's willing listen and hopefully they print it in a newspaper or on a boxing forum like here. I don't know anyone that's pissed at him for calling out Calzaghe or for having a little spat at Khan, he was trying to get some media attention that's all. Lets face Khan gets talked about all over the world & Froch has a way better resume and joe blogs probably doesn't even know who he is.

Didn't Mick Hennessy/Froch ask for too much money from ITV & Sky for the Taylor fight (i think) and they turned him down, leaving Prime Time showing it? Since then Sky and ITV have refused to deal with him. You would think that people would want to watch to see him lose then. Well I did originally but only on streams, never paid to watch one of his fights. After he lost to Kessler I don't mind him as much now.

Are his fights really not televised at all in the UK? That would be amazing to me. He's an exciting fighter with a solid resume, a world title, and a big mouth. How is he not anywhere near as popular as Calzaghe? hes not as popular as calzaghe was cuz joe was well liked and froch was calling him out on a regular basis after he beat robin reid by ko, reid took calzaghe to a S.D,yeah it was a few years earlier but was still a great win for froch...i still think calzaghe knew froch was too strong for him.

Isnt this the same place where Audley Harrison is famous :nonono: Froch fights Pascal,Taylor,Dirrell,Abraham and now Johnson coming up and he cant get on British television ?

Didnt Fat Mick say after the Pascal fight that Froch was to big a star for ITV, but then he could get Sky to show the Taylor fight so he had to go back to ITV. Then after that ITV pulled the plug and Froch was forced onto a channel no one has.

dont blame him,he should be on sky tv all the time,feel sorry for him he would of had a lot more fans if his last 6 fights were on skysports warrrrrrrrr frochhhhhhhhhhh

How is he not anywhere near as popular as Calzaghe? This is a great question, I'm from the U.K and I can comfortably say that Froch is not that popular with casual fans he's not a star here. Khan and Haye are both bigger stars in the U.K and personally I think that's a shame. For what ever reason the media have not really got behind him yet they will continually hype other sports personality's who have not achieved as much as Carl. David Haye was a contender for sports personality of the year in 2010 yet all he did was beat an old John Ruiz and Audley Harrison to me its a total joke. its about time people in the U.K gave Froch the recognition he has earned.

Boxing on tv in the UK is not on full stop unless your willing to pay for via sky which is £30 per month minimum add the sport channel at £25 per month and its starts to rack up, plus most good bouts are not even on the standard sport channel, they are on ppv which again is another £10 - £20 depending on the fight. ITV & BBC dont show any boxing anymore which is a shame. Now your standard joe blogs in the UK couldn't even name the UK current crop of champs never mind the best we have like Froch.

Yes and what is really sad is that hype job Haye is well known but Froche is not.
