I'm still not used to the fact that Cotto is fighting at 154. His only fight so far has been Foreman and even though he looked good, his opponent was a soft puncher. If he takes care of Mayorga by either a KO or a decision, I doubt he'll have problems with Canelo.

What the WBC does and what GB does has nothing to do with Canelo. If you don't like how the WBC and GB handled things then criticize them but Canelo is not a promoter and he is not the head of the WBC. The weight thing was dumb but is irrelevent to how skilled he is. And are you really gonna tell me that Cotto wasn't a giant fuking Junior welterweight? Look for those who still want to lobby, that Cotto is still in good shape or an elite fighter, need to remove him the pedestal. And they plan to follow up with a Margarito rematch. As much as it pains me, Cotto, along with Margarito, and Marquez are becoming stepping stones for younger fighters to make a name for themselves. And I'm not sure what Marquez (or Cotto and Margarito) has done for you to label him (them) a "stepping stone". That seems a bit premature. In order to brand someone a "stepping stone for younger fighters", it seems like you'd wait until one of those younger fighters have, I don't know, beaten them.

Yeah and if you are going to criticize him on his head movement, defense, footwork, and handspeed then all of them are legitimate. But regurgitating this ridiculous notion that somehow being stunned for 10 seconds cancels out all the good thing in the kid is just stupid.
