Schaefer "Mathew Hatton has improved greatly over the past 12 to 14 months. We will make sure he becomes Welterweight Champion."
Yeah, sure..............by paying off refs like you all are used to doing!!
Well to be honest,he does fit the criteria to get a shot at Pacman.Hasn't looked good in a while & coming off of a beatdown, yup perfect for the best fighter on the planet.:dunno:
sometimes a loss can make a fighter better, hatton proved he is worthy of a world class stage , he has an incredible chin , he took on a proven ko punching 154lb + guy and wasnt even shaken, you cannot train to have a chin its something you either have or dont. all he needs is to crank up his offense, with a good trainer and hell do very well.the chin and defense sometimes you cant teach that, look at pacyow he gets hit with bombs his defense sux, ate 227 punches the last fight. good luck to matt hatton.
If it's something you have or you don't what happened to Matthew Hatton's 'incredible' chin when he got stopped by the brutal punching 4-6 David Kier in 2 rounds?
Explain how he proved he is worthy of a world class stage please.
In the article, they said it was for his gutsy showing, and so that he could fight at his natural weight.
It is ridiculous for you guys to be dissing Hatton.
He is still the same WELTERWEIGHT that he was before he stepped in at 154. The only people that have the right to diss Hatton, are the ones who personally e-mailed Sulaiman before the fight to register their disgust.
If you weren't worried then, it's too late - and irrelevant - now.
IMHO, he deserves a chance at welter.
My only arguement would be that he should have to fight an eliminator first.
Yes, thats the same Welterweight who has done nothing in his entire career on a world level. Matthew Hatton has done nothing in his career to suggest he deserves a title show. Getting beaten up and losing every round against a 20 year old prospect doesn't mean you deserve a title shot.
I was worried then, worried for his health. I stated on numerous occasions the fight is ridiculous. Matthew Hatton is out of his league fighting against above average fighters. Let alone World title shots.
In your opinion he deserves a title shot? Explain what he's done to deserve a title shot please.
Yes, he should fight an eliminator....maybe he could fight some Top 10 ranked fighters at 147 while he's at it. You know, beat someone that means something? Before he gets a title shot there? Just a suggestion.
MATTHEW HATTON will get another world title fight later this year despite losing every round to Saul Alvarez.

Schaefer :stupid:
hatton showed up for a check against the ginger and gets rewarded with a future shot at a major WW...
this is GBP guys...
STFU!!!!!! yeah like pac vs margarito makes pac jr middlweight champion , canelo is 20 and pac is deemed the best(of the leftovers) , pac is no more jr middleweight champ than canelo is at allllllllll, stop posting stupid **** and just be honest for once scumbag.and now pac is fighting yet another washed up bum, whos 40 and hasnt won a bout in 2 yrs and has kod 1 guy in his last 5 , please dude stop with the stupidity, your jealous cuz your god is on his wayout fighting bums and hes uglier than dogshiat and canelo is 20 pretty and selling, face it dude your a cum guzzling pactard and a hater.

Considering 3 years ago his career was being written off to becoming the EBU Champion and defending it a few times and looking pretty good to moving up to LMW and facing the next big thing, yet stuck in for 12 rounds isn't to bad. And considering Hatton was brought in for Saul to look good and dispose of and didn't, he's earned the right to get a fight at WW.
Sure Hatton lost every round, I'm not disputing that but considering he was simply brought in to make Saul look good and (hopefully) get the KO and didn't give him someone at WW, as I said he's not world class but at least give the guy a crack at WW belt or one of the top guys, he's done all the right things since the Watson fight in May 2008.
So based on the fact since he got dominated by Watson who was coming off a loss he has beaten some average fighters and got a draw with an average fighter and losing every single round against a 20 year old prospect he deserves a title shot?
How about he actually beats a top 10 fighter at 147 before he gets a title shot at 147? How about actually DO SOMETHING in your career before you get a title shot at 147?
You just said he's NOT world class, and your absolutely right. He is far from being close to world class. So why should a fighter who has shown time and time again he isn't world class get a title for a World title?
There is literally no logic in this argument at all.
No you're right Dan, Hatton doesn't deserve a shot, but Pacquiao deserves a 154 pound title at a 150 catchweight because he fought the best guys at 154 and earned the right to fight for that title.
Oh wait....
I agree. His 'Jr Middleweight' Title is ridiculous.
Why are you telling me this?

Oh wait....
I don't think Pacquiao and Margarito deserved to fight for the JMW title at a catchweight, but if you're comparing them to CANELO and HATTON's case, sh1t! At least Margarito has won three world champions, has fought at JMW before, and I don't even need to explain Manny. What has Canelo done to earn that title and especially a bum fighter like Hatton who is nowhere near the top of any list.
Based on what?

This is what is wrong with boxing, the guy got outclassed by a prospect and never deserved a title shot in the first place.
So we see Broner get beat by Ponce De Leon and one judge scores it a landslide victory for Broner, and Hatton getting a shot is what is wrong with boxing?
Give me a break. Boxing is all about politics and corruption. Hatton proved to be a fan friendly fighter as he came to fight, never stopped coming forward and threw punches.
That is what should be rewarded and I think that he will put on a hell of a show in a big welterweight fight.
Boxing isn't always about who is the best, because a lot of times the greatest fighters never have good enough management to make it big, that's why we have guys like Andre Berto, David Lemieux, Devon Alexander, Tim Bradley and a whole slew of guys who couldn't hold a candle to the past all time greats, yet they are what we're forced to watch.
Gimme a break with "This is what's wrong with boxing." Broner winning a decision over Broner is what's wrong with boxing. Manny and Floyd not fighting is what's wrong with boxing. Arum cheating history is what's wrong with boxing. 20 vacant titles going to fighters who haven't proven themselves is what's wrong with boxing.
I can't believe that after the guts and show he put on for the crowd Saturday night, people would say that him getting a shot is what's wrong with boxing. The guy worked and fought his heart out and for being outclassed and HEAVILY outweighed by a bigger, younger guy, FOUGHT A GREAT FIGHT WITH WHAT HE HAD TO WORK WITH.
Even thou Matt Hatton isn't a world class fighter I think he's earned the right to contend for a belt or at least face of the top echelon of the division.
Even thou I know it's obsurd talk by myself I'd like to see him fight Manny or Floyd at WW as a tune up fight for either of them, but more so to see how he fairs compaired to Ricky, doubtful either fight will take place, I reckon he'd fair better with either than Ricky did,
Based on what?
I can't believe that I'm reading.
Why would Matthew Hatton get a title shot? It makes no sense.
The guy does nothing his whole career, gets stopped and beaten by bums, one of his biggest fights is a draw with Lovemore N'dou.
Suddenly he gets dominated every single round against a 20 year old prospect and everyone suddenly loves him and he gets given another title shot?
Out of the blue after 1 fight of him getting dominated myths start flying around that he is an inside fighter and has a better chin than his brother.
Sh*t is ****ing unbelieveable.
