Better win.....?

The corrupt judges were gonna try to rob Pirog. I had Pirog winning 3-1 after 4 rounds. Pirog should've been credited with a knockdown in round 2, that should've been a 10-8 round. I like Pirog but no way in hell was he winning that fight. They refs had it right, all 3 of them with 39-37 after 4.

Jacobs being an up and comer in GBP has nothing to do with it at all. That's a horrible reason. Being for a garbage paper title that shouldn't have been on the line in the first place is a bad reason as well. Now mentioning the KO is a good reason. I think that's a valid point. However, RC has a nice counter of Sillakh was dominant from the get go. While Jacobs-Pirog was very competitive up to the point of the KO. However, like RubenSonny said, Jacobs was more proven at the time than Despaigne is. However, I think Despaigne is not only more talented but also more skilled. Just overall the better fighter. But, Jacobs had the better resume to that point. I mean this was Despaigne what 9th pro fight? And, that was Jacobs 17th? I think it's tough...I might lean towards Pirog. But, not by much is by a very slim margin. So slim that I might have changed my mind tomorrow and lean towards Sillakh...It's very tough, good question.

Pirog IMO, he fought the more proven guy (though it could be argued Despaigne is just as, or more skilled) and took him out in spectacular fashion (I had Pirog winning unlike the GBP judges). PS. thanks for the link Tunney, much appreciated.

I would say Pirog's win. 1) It was by KO 2) It was for the WBO title 3) Jacobs was a top-and-comer with Golden Boy. Both were very impressive. It was a title that shouldnt have been on the line, but my biggest problem is that Pirog was getting outboxed a bit and losing on the scorecards. He's not always gonna get that type of KO

Both got strong wins over huge notable prospects, but Ismayl sent a big message outboxing despaigne which is not an easy task. This guy can beat Cleverly so badly, a future world champ in the making. Really impressive the way Sillakh handled Despaigne. Not easy to make a guy like that look so bad, as you say.

I think the biggest factor is that Ismayl completely outboxed him, and has undoubtably impressive skills

I say it is Ismayl because he completely outboxed a solid fighter in Despaigne, also knocking him down and hurting him several times While Pirog did KO Jacobs for a title, he was losing at the moment KO
