:boxing:
Nobody, and I mean nobody, entertained like this kid. From his interviews to his rings walks to his showboating when the names were being announced to what he did in the ring. He made fights against complete bums, not just appear to be a fight, but an event.
He had the complete package and nobody did it quite like him. Its just too bad that he gave up on his boxing life after only 1 loss against an all time great.
Heres to Hamed, the GOAT entertainer in boxing.
As was I. But it doesn't mean Naz wasn't the most entertaining, even in that defeat. The ring entrance to that fight was something else.
In regards to Camacho, you did say he revolutionized. SHG revolutionized music in terms of being the first HH group to get noticed on a large scale and changed music in ways that are still being felt today.
But it doesn't mean they were the best at it.
agree to disagree and we'll leave it at that I guess...
I figured I would just mention him since I didn't really see him being mentioned in the thread, and I was HIGHLY surprised!
I never said he was the first either lol, dont get me twisted bro....
I don't know about anybody else, but I was jumpin around when Barrera was beating the daylights out of him.....

Hamed may have learned from Camacho, but Naseem perfected it.
We don't say the Sugar Hill Gang is the GOAT Hiphop group just because they were first now do we?
What Naz did inside the ring is what separated him from Camacho.

I mean I like Hamed don't get me wrong, but what do u mean by what he did in the ring?
The moves, the style, the flashiness with the hands and feet. He had everything Camacho had, but with incredible power and angles with made for a better show.
Did he fight any hall of famers? Besides MAB but he lost that fight. Its easy to clown around and make faces when your fighting bums.
Of course it is, but nobody did it like Naseem. He made those fights a show. He didn't just go in there and knock them out, he put on a display never seen before, or after.
If you like Hamed's antics, then you're being a bit too shallow. It's a circus act. No more no less.
Boxing is entertainment. Why wouldn't people like to be entertained? Nowhere did I say he was an atg fighter in the annals of boxing history,
only that P4P,
nobody did it better than he when it came to entertaining the audience from the front end of the show to the back.
Now if you want to go make a thread about who the best fighter in history is,
be my guest, but this isn't it nor was it intended to be. If you didn't enjoy the show he put on, then you're simply not a fan of entertaining performers. Jorge Maromero Paez was never an atg fighter, but he put on an entertaining performance every time out and is one fighter I'll never forget.

Ahmed, Mayweather both learned from Hector "El Macho" Camacho, now that guy was the GOAT entartainer, he revolutionized entrances, to outfits coming into the ring, interviews, everything..... 7 Division champ Minor + Major titles, HOF soon to be.....
Now that being that flashy is good, cuz it gets you more hate than love, but it definetely makes people pay attention, and thats what boxing needs in one form or another....

Perhaps?
Name one better. One who entertained all the way from the ring walk to the after fight interview.

Manny Pacquiao and Emanuel Augustus are both more entertaining in the ring than Hamed.
WROOOOOONG!!!
Hamed was more explosive then both, way more one punch KO's. Plus no one humiliated their beaten opponents quite like the little gobby shiit.
He also danced, did back flips and got knocked down frequently during his career.
U didnt know wtf was going to happen with the midget twat. Probably p4p atg entertainer.
He was one of a kind in terms of a boxing show-man, he had chrisma, character, and was different from the average boxer. Loved watching the guy when I was kid, never creased to amaze me. He had awesome explosive power and reflexes.
Its not a real good excuse for a guy to all of a sudden lose interest when youre fighting the best fighter of your whole career. Youre not alone in that thought. Sometimes I feel like if he hadnt done all the dancing and dumb sh*t people wouldnt be so quick to make up excuses for him. Its a mystery in boxing that is never to be solved. Do you honestly think anyone would give Morales the same excuses? No, not even his fans including me. We just say Pac beat the **** out of him. The rules seem to change for the goof.
He didnt just suddenly lose interest before the Barrera fight. His career was already on a downward spiral long before that. Leaving Frank Warren and putting all his brothers in charge of his career. Sacking Brendan Ingle and having 2 trainers who would take turns and talk over each other in the corner
The ring walk was the most annoying and goofy part of his act to me. For entertainment Ali was better to me. Most classic interviews of all time.
And yet, millions enjoyed his goofy ring walks, the garb, the flip into the ring and the dancing. Ali simply walking into the ring had no entertainment value at all.
It's been mentioned already, Ali.
His words went beyond the sport of boxing. Even today, he could still stop traffic. He was far more eloquent and his social and cultural impact is still felt today.
Hamed would get a ticket for loitering.
Cultural impact?
When did this become about cultural impact? It never did. Its strictly about the entertainment value. Hamed put on a show from front to end. Ali didn't.
He never should have fired his trainer.
But I have to say, he defended his various world titles over twenty times. He was going to get bored with boxing at some point. It's a shame he didn't lose a fight earlier in his career to light a spark under him. He was bored and indifferent towards boxing by the time he fought Marco.
People wouldn't be watching Nonito Donaire and Abner today if it hadn't been for The Prince. He deserves the respect for all he did for boxing.
