WBA Lightweight title

If the "super" champ vacates, then nothing changes. If the regular champ vacates then the interim champ may be promoted to regular champ or have to fight against an opponent for the title. It really depends on how good your promoter is if he can get you the title with having to fight for it. that sucks bigtime!....thanks man

Quite the opposite actually. The whole point of a "super champion" is when a superstar wins your belt and you know he isn't going to be defending against mandatories several times a year. It's a way to keep the superstar paying sanctioning fees instead of just vacating the belt. The WBA treats "super" and "regular" champions as separate champs so they will never have a mandatory fight. When there is an interim champion in the WBA, the "regular" champion has to fight the interim champion. The "super" champion basically has no mandatories. thanks....that sucks if true....like the demarco's wbc paper title, they were talking about if sotto moves up , thed make demarco the real wbc champion ... so since they have all these interim , and regular champions, if the real champion vacates, who would they make a real champion , the interim titlest or the "regular titliest?.....im curios coz sergio was just an interim titlest at 154, they just bumped him up to being the real wbc champion ....

im pretty confused too with this whole BS.....so if rios is just a paper champion(kinda like an interim champion), should'nt it just be right or mandatory for jmm to fight rios for the real title or stripp jmm out of his wba title if he decides not to?..... The WBA's "super" champion has 18 months to make a mandatory defense but it won't be against the " regular" titleholder Rios. Under the WBA rules the super champion has to defend the title against the #1 contender and the regular champion has to defend against the interim champion or the next highest rated contender. We can all thank Lennox Lewis for making this suggestion to the WBA president to make a super champion

It's a shame since the WBA and WBC are the oldest commissions. Both seem to be f@kking up as of late.

The WBA is a joke. The only reason the WBA created the super title and sanctions so many interim title fights so the WBA can collect more sanctioning fees. The WBA should be voted out of boxing there not in it for the sport there in it for the money. When anyone asks why the WBA has so many so called champions the WBA president doesn't even answer your question. I've tried to ask through email, Twitter and facebook but I don't get any responce like so many other fans. Maybe if every fighter and promoter boycotted the WBA then maybe the fans might get a responce then. If the WBA went without sanctioning fees for about 8 to 10 months they'd go bankrupt and boxing would be a lot less confusing when it comes to knowing who the real champions are. It's sad for some of these younger fighters that think there actually fighting for a real championship but in most cases there only fighting for a title that someone else already has in their division. The WBA's current title count is 33 titles per 17 divisions while the other organzations has up to 20. The WBA is the reason why new fans won't follow boxing because it's really confusing even for the hardcore boxing fans. Hopefully someone with authoirty in boxing will step up and do something about these jokers that are the WBA

It's the silly way the WBA works, JMM didn't vacate. He got "promoted" to "Super Champion" as he holds other belts in the division. Then the WBA lets other fighters fight for the regular WBA belt. Rios is the regular WBA Champ, Marquez is Super Champ. It's a load of bollocks, I know. Mr "quitschko" I just want to bring to your attention Klitschko's LEFT eye. I'm sure that even your myopia can see that it is WIDE OPEN, that he can see perfectly with it. As you know, one of the "excuses" that fool of a doctor gave for stopping the fight with Lewis was "I told him to look up and his eyelide didn't move, i tought that the nerves had been cut"....etc. The REAL reason was probably that with all the noise in the corner in about 4-5 different languages, and Klitschko's imperfect English, he didnot hear the doctor who, anyway, was standing ove him to such a close degree that to look up, Klitschko would have had to tilt his head backwards. You may recall, since you use that photo, that as soon as Klitschko eventually understood that the fight had been stopped because "he couldn't see" jumped right to his feet, shouting "ICAN SEE, I CAN SEE VERY WELL" etc. (he said :wery vell") And he could, too, as both eyes were popping WIDE OPEN, very much like the picture you use with the cosmetically enhanced plasters and bruises etc. none of which actually affect his eye at all......you know, the eye which was supposed to he hanging down his cheek and all that lying crap. And the gash had been controlled with NO BLEEDING since the end of the 3rd rd. Maybe the doctor had a bet on Lewis in that fight. There was speculation about that too. It's about time you put that crap away, to rest with all the rest of the myths and legends.
