Roy Jones jr was a champ at a Heavyweight, in his prime would you rank Wlad as better than Jones pound for pound?
Mayweather won a belt at 154lb but is not a Jr Middleweight fighter. If size wasn't an issue going into that match up Mayweather would be the clear favourite to dominate that fight.
__________
Fighter of the year/Decade or whatever you want to call it is based on accomplishment. Pound for pound is based on ability.
That comparison would only work if you were talking about Mayweather fighting Andre Ward or something. Don't compare a welterweight winning a 154 belt to a light heavyweight winning a heavyweight belt.
If he doesn't have a fight scheduled for later this year, you have to take him off. I already have, it's pretty obvious he going to go more than a year with no plans of boxing.
as Max Kellerman has said, Floyd is inactive. what must happen for Floyd to be drop or be omitted from the P4P rankings?
Floyd must be moved down to the list. Its unfair to boxers out there risking his health fighting in top level 2-3 times a year while he is enjoying his vacation and fight only once a year.
Well duh, everyone knows its opinion, but you are the one commenting on he should be dropped to 29th lol.
I said and I will repeat it now, do you wanna bet real money and the loser leaves boxing scene with no alts forever???
SIMPLE QUESTION, YOU CAN ALWAYS TELL A MANS HEART BY WHERE HIS MONEY IS....
well, you said "arum" was controlling these ranks cause you say floyd must be ranked if his fight with pacquiao is gonna have some hype.
which is retarded.
well done, i dropped floyd to 36th cause of your stupid ass.
Man I was done with this tread, but after reading this bull$hit I guess I gotta say something.Floyd is always gonna come up with easy wins fighting guys like Marquez & Hatton at 147 bro. He's gonna always come up with easy wins against guys like Judah & Baldomir & Sharmba at 147 bro.If Mosley had more than 2 rounds of stamina when they fought the fight wouldn't have been so easy after the 2nd bro.
Floyd wouldn't have had easy wins if he fought Margarito after Margarito ran him from his own interview. He wouldn't have had an easy win if he fought Cotto before Plastergate got a hold of him.He wouldn't have had easy wins if he didn't accuse Pacman of dopping just to not face him.In short,if Floyd fought the dangerous guys instead of fat lightweight & b level fighters,he wouldn't dominate like he did against fat lightweights & the Baldomirs of welterweight.
Martinez has not taken an easy fight since he became known. If Floyd fought him,I guarantee that $hit would be 1 of boxing's top rated fights.Martinez is active & beating top rated opponents,Floyd is inactive & fighting everyone else but fighters,if he comes back & ever faces Martinez,he gets sonned, that is all.
i'll give you pac and jmm but cotto, margarito, hatton, mosley all those matches were at floyd's latest and highest weights bro. look, i'm not the biggest floyd fan, heck, i'd shudder at the thought of being called a floyd fan but ask yourself this: "do you think if sergio climbed the divisions like floyd did, would he have close to as much success as he did?". forget the notion of undefeated or ppv draw... that's flomo bullsh1t, but the dude is legit in his own right. you don't just climb that many divisions and still be that dominant.
are you honestly comparing sergio's 2 great wins at a division not far from where he started at against floyd's rise from 130 all the way to 157?
and just where are you basing this outcome from? from sergio's fights with pdub and pavlik? lmao, the only way sergio wins this fight is through size, and even then it's not like floyd hasn't fought guys bigger/heavier than him. this is a fighter who has risen through countless divisions and has always come up with mostly easy, well calculated landslide victories... something sergio hasn't done even now at the twilight of his career.
sergio is a damn good fighter but you're overrating him way too much. do you really think that the sole reason floyd hasn't fought him yet is because he thinks sergio would win? sergio has basically nothing to offer on the table bro... can't draw sh1t, virtually unknown to most viewers until just recently, not even his own country backs him up solidly.

Im sure someone already said this, but the rule often is a year of inactivity and they are off. I think its pretty obvious that he wont get a fight any time soon.
floyds on vacation so shouldnt be on the list, manny fights washed up fighters or tomato cans. The true p4p king right now is sergio martinez followed by nonito donaire.
yes, 2 great wins his entire career and sergio is suddenly number 1 pound for pound. 3 great wins in a span of more than 3 years for nonito and he suddenly jumps to number 2...
What's that,Floyd & Martinez have both been champs at 154.I guarantee that if Floyd ever had the balls to fight Martinez, that fight would happen & Martinez would beat the brakes off of him period.

I think there is a push to drop him from p4p lists everywhere because people think that if he's off the list, it will somehow encourage him to come back and fight pacman.
Other people are just sick of seeing him.
if he becomes active again, he'll go back to #2 or #1 but they have to be innactive for 1-2years depending on the list. most lists i think its 9months to a year.
This is beginning to annoy me. My first statement in the thread didn't express my opinion on the matter as well as my later post, that is why I went into greater detail highlighting that the mere fact that Floyd and Martinez fought at the same weight isn't enough to justify them being the same size ( a word a I should have used instead of weight).
At the end of the day, when Floyd fought at 154lb, he hit the scales at 150lb and came in at 148lb. Essentially weighting less than some Welterweights come in on fight night.
Bro,U can get annoyed all U want,My response & everything I have responded to was based on Ur original post.So if that's the case,we can forget everything that went on after. It's been a pleasure.
The bold is ur 1st statement correct. My response to U,was to that.Martinez & Floyd have both fought at the same weight. Both have been champ there, correct. So being that that is indeed true & factual,My opinion is that if they fought at the weight of 154,Martinez wins.Martinez's last 4 fights were against a higher caliber of fighter (at the weight they fought at) than was Floyd's.Meaning his wins against better fighters can make an argument of him being higher pfp.Especially with Floyd being inactive.

If he is removed from the ranking completely or someone better than him comes along. Do you think fighters like Donaire and Martinez could beat Mayweather if they were the same weight? Most people would answer no so putting them ahead of him on the p4p list makes no sense.
It not a impressive recent win list or a popularity contest.
I explained the relevance of Wlad & Roy 2 posts ago. Roy (Like Floyd) had a fight at a weight where he is not most effective, Wlad ( Like Martinez) is a seasoned fighter at the weight where Roy won a title. Just because Wlad would beat Roy at Heavyweight does not mean he is better than Roy P4P ( Like Floyd and Mayweather).
Martinez could beat Martinez but the fact of the matter is 154lb isn't Mayweather most effective weight, if he could be as effective at 154lb as he is at 147lb he would shut Martinez out.

What does Wlad & Roy have to do with this(sounds familiar)??No my 1st were response was to when U asked if Floyd & Martinez were the same weight, would Martinez win.The facts are that Floyd fought at 154 before. So they can fight at the same weight of 154 & if they did,yes Martinez would beat him.

Where did I say Floyd was tiny and what does Marquez and Mosley have to do with this? I said he was a Welterweight fighter and Martinez is a Jr Middleweight fighter. 154lb is passed Mayweather most effective weight, it is where Martinez is most effective.
As I said, your argument is akin to saying Wlad is better than Roy Jones pound for pound because he would starch him at heavyweight.

What was Floyd's weight when he fought Marquez??He looked bigger than Mosley when they fought. That Floyd is tiny $hit don't work no more.He can make 154 believe that.Him & Cotto are damn near the same size bro.Ur so 2008 with that Floyd is tiny crap.
