haha did not see that.
Calzaghe probably pwned himself as he was scared of Hopkins.
scared of hopkins??he ass raped him and then gave it a lil shake..lol
Firstly, I actually have seen a hell of a lot of Calzaghe fights, and I do miss him.
He did have a slappy style, but his high work rate was exciting. He had sloppy times, but also very accurate at times too.
Do not let the Hopkins fight judge him, both had a bad fight, a bad style match up and Hopkins went for some dodgy tactics.
Anyway say what you want, but he had good footwork, a style that was hard to hit, a high workrate, a good jab and fast hands, he had good intangibles, and knew how to box, as well as 'brawl', even though he had no power.
He had his bad moments, and bad fights, but his boxing brain was very high indeed.
Roy Jones, he may have been superman, with his athleticism and speed, but we all have to remember he used an illegal substance.
Anyway even without, and let's say all his speed was natural etc... then well, it was just that. When it comes to boxing brain, Hopkins is far superior, and in style too.
Roy is more exciting.
As for Calzaghe, he did have heart, a chin, and was tough. He only stated getting cut since Bika, when he was older. He never been cut until he was old which he stated. Also he always got up when dropped.
His style was difficult to beat, his boxing brain is underrated, and he would give anyone a hard time for 12 whole rounds.
i would say his desperate fans and english sports writers have a lot more to do with the hate than calzaghe the fighter. they refer to him as christ's left nut when their overhyped fighters don't live up to their hype. "hatton is no calzaghe", "so and so is not calzaghe after all." :lol1: he's all they've got.
I found it funny that guys said that Calzaghe picked on two old fighters and retired when he was 36 himself, not exactly a spring chicken.
correction..he was 37
stop picking on calzaghe it's not his fault everyone ducked him. sure he only fought old and one dimensional fighters but in his prime he was unbeatable. devastating puncher, iron chin, and an unstoppable will to win.
did you see the way he picked apart world rated mger mtchiak or juan carlos giminz ferrari? did you see him end the careers of great american prospects will mcintyre and tocker pudwill? they were never the same!
he even let hopkins knock him down and win the first 6 rounds and he still won by 6 points even though that's mathematically impossible!
:lol1::lol1:

LOL please dont tell me u think the jones fight was a good win for Joe
and hopkins is done dont be fooled by his win over a slow 170 kelly pavlik and overrated Pascal
How does that prove Hopkins is "done"? He beat smaller and overrated fighters throughout his prime...
jones was only 2 years older
and hopkins was the ring champ at 175 and p4p.....

i'm glad he's gone. look how alive super middle has become since he left. even light heavy is on the road to recovery since he stopped his geriatric beat down parade. even if he was still around he wouldn't fight most of these new guys so what's the point of wanting him back? you want to see him beat up more bums, robots and old men? that's just sick you are sick!
Especially with the Super 6 happening right after he left. Would have loved to see him face these young lions in the Super 6.
I think he would have won it too, just watching them I think Calzaghe was that little bit better.
hopkins is still fighting and probally should be the linear champ at 175..so why are yall discrediting joe????so whats the point of anyone fighting hopkins??if he wins oh hes great..if he loses oh he was old
Gotta agree on the bold. Only in NSB.
Kinda like ... if you have speed and power and knocking out fools with one punch, you are on roids period lol!
