When he was asked if he would move up and fight Juanma or Gamboa I thought tthat would be possible for him to but I think he should make that move within a year not right away. How long do you guys think he should wait before moving up?
Nonito should fight 2x or 3x more in BW, on the way to the HOF
As a boxing fan, I would like to see the Flash go through the gauntlet of very talented fighters in the BW and SBW divisions to establish his dominance in the lower weights. Go through moreno, mares/agbeko, then move up and take on rigo and vazquez on the way to building a HOF worthy resume. If he succeeds, he should target Juanma and Gamboa, then close his career with belts in the SFW division. Depending on how well he does, he should get in the ATG lists then. I think he's got the talent, the size, the speed and skill to pull it off.
Are you guys only considering this cause HBO asked about it?
118-126 is a 8 pound jump.
Regardless, Gamboa and Juanma are big guys who are fast and strong in their own right and are the naturally bigger fighters in this matter. Gamboa is fast and strong and ****, Who says Donaire can even take a natural featherweight punch? You don't know that yet, and who says his power will climb 8 pounds?? I'm not saying he can't do it, but come on, you guys are completely skipping 122 and putting him with fighters who are no slauch and have the background to prove it at 126. What happens when Donaire gets hit with a fast Gamboa punch or Lopez hook? You guys need to know why there's even weight classes.
IMO, Gamboa and Lopez beat him, if he proves me wrong - fine. But 8 pounds makes a difference, these are naturally bigger guys who are strong and are ready to hit 130 in the next year or two. And that's another 4 pounds on Donaire they have.
He will move up somehow, is naturally big. I'd like to see him winning agains Agbeko (wh's gonna win), and then with Rigondeaux. I would' be so sure of the fact that he can match properly Gamboa o Lopez right now, Gamboa is very very strong phisically.
I can't believe he's still making 118 at 28 years old. I think his body will force him up soon.
It seems like all the cards are falling in place. Fight the winner of Agbeko/Mares, then move up to 122.
I'd guess he'll be at 126 by age 30
He should fight winner of Mares-Agbeko in summer, Moreno in fall, then he can move up in weight. At 122 next year Rigondeaux and Vazquez fights can be done, Nishioka is the man in that division, but actually nobody cares about him. So by the end of 2012 he'll be at FW.
after last night i know he can do it. your right though soak up some legacy then at 122. do you think gamboa or lopez stand a chance against him though.
Yes i would favor both Juanma and Gamboa to beat him. After watching pac, people think anybody can just climb weight classes with no problem
But there is just no reason to go to 126 because Arum will not pin either Juanma or Gamboa against him, i mean he wont pin them against each other yet
Why move up to 126?
Theres no way he's getting either Juanma or Gamboa
Plus Bantamweight is packed. Time to become undisputed champ

If Lopez was staggered from a left from an old Marquez imagine what would happen if it was coming from a young explosive Donaire.
yeah that was the fight i was thinking of. i really think donaire would own the feather weight division.
Not only hang with them but knock them the fuck out with one punch. Shit if it was possible I honestly think he would knock out the 2 of them in the same night. All he has to do is get ready for a 12 rounder. Knocks Gamboa out in 6 and then JuanMa in 6. :D Killed two birds with one stone.
i think he can do it. lopez for sure he gets rocked a lot lol. he'll still have to keep his defense tight though becuase both of them can bang.
he should get a belt at 122 first and maybe defend it a couple of times...that should be his ticket to 126. donaire can fight up to 4 times a year if he wants as he always stay in shape.
I think he should move up to 122 and fight about 2 fights there against the likes of Rigondeaux and Vazquez Jr. After that we can talk 126.
one step at a time yeah. theres alot of talent in the feather weight division right now but i think donaire can do it.
