So when it's all said and done...Nonito Donaire is simply another American living The American Dream...he embodies everything that is American, and it shows in the way he fights, speaks, and carries himself...
We're proud of him.
Donaire is not American and neither are Mexicans but people from Puerto Rico are. Technically Donaire is American as well(he has citizenship) but he wouldn't of even needed to apply for one had he been born about 50 years ago.
Donaire sons and daughters will be American with Filipino decent though.
Donaire's wife is an american of Filipino descent, right?
Yeah thats why he calls himself the filipino flash, was born and raised in the phillipines and talk all things filipino, american boxing is poor at the moment but this is just desperation
you can't wear tights in a boxing match though :D
big fan of the Marvel's "The Flash" though... :P
Use lower case p. :p
EDIT: you can wear them during a bike race. :p
our people would have been better off.idk, Quezon said, " I would rather see a Philippines being run like hell by Filipinos than a Philippines run like heaven by Americans".
It was an election time when he said that, but he himself didn't believe what he said. :D
Why? you got to study our history first.
of course.
puerto ricans in puerto rico are americans. :DMakes me think that Filipinos used to be Americans during commonwealth times. Damn Quezon and the rest...
Can't we all just get along? Fck nationalities and ethnicities, just respect all boxers as long as they are great and fight legitimate opponents or don't cherry pick. Does it take skills and practice to be black, white, brown, yellow, red, or whatever? No, it's a genetic accident!
Agreed.
I think all of us as boxing fans should just be happy that exciting fighters are being matched up and are producing fireworks.
Though I don't like this new line that some posters are trying to draw between Donaire being Fil-Am/pure Pinoy.
Posters telling Pac fans that they can't claim Donaire because he's more American than Filipino. What the hell is that about?
To me it just seems like insecure fans who have railed so long against Pac being a "1-dimensional midget," that when another Filipino comes along that embodies what they consider a boxer with "real" skills, they're afraid to give him up to the people that have been shoving Pac's accomplishments to their faces this whole time(deservingly or not).
And Filipino or Fil-Am, Donaire can hold up three flags if he wants, USA's, PI's, and even Mexico's because of his trainer.

He came to the states when he was 10. He didnt have the American flag with the pinoy flag which is disrespectful to this great country
Bian is a thailander who can't speak tagalog. Donaire is fluent in both bisaya and tagalog like the american poster serv. :D
brian is nonita and glen's daddy. :D
All the Filipinos who watched Pacquiao fight in Vegas are Americans since they are American Citizens by paper?
Juan Diaz, Brandon Rios, Antonio Margarito are all Americans then. All Mexicans in North America are Americans. :D
he was born in philippines.
he was also raised in philippines as he was in america.
i don't remember when he moved to the u.s. , junior high i think?Bian is a thailander who can't speak tagalog. Donaire is fluent in both bisaya and tagalog like the american poster serv. :D
