you really have to give donaire credit on his footwork, he was on point with it, perfect positioning and his hip rotation with that counter left, superb.......

The referee turned his back to put Nonito in the neutral corner with Montel started twitching... I think if he saw Montiel twitching then stumbling after, he wouldve stopped the fight.. He gave Montiel a chance because he's a proven champion. Too bad he didn't see the twitching..

So anybody not write off Sydorenko anymore due to his loss vs Nonito? Sydorenko was a quality opponent who gave Moreno a fight for his money Anybody that called him a bum simply never saw him fight

Terrible job by the ref. I dont think it has been brought up that nonito was pretty much standing behind the ref and had a chance to run over and try to rip montiels head off. I think the ref was also in shock that he got up from that kd. That was a long count. The twitching was scary. I thought the stoppage was early, but I'm sadistic. I would always give a mexican the benefit of the doubt.

watch again how the ref asked montiel about 3 or 4 times to walk to him after the knock down and montiel never does. Then the ref walks to montiel, lifts his gloves for him, wipes then, then allows montiel to take more punishment. IMO that is terrible referring. I disagree. He gave Montiel a chance but stayed right on the spot to make sure he wouldn't take more punishment. He jumped in as soon as it became clear he wasn't going to recover. He got it right.

Watch it again he stumbled on the 1st but when he got up he was steady. If the ref saw montiel convulsing on the ground I think he would have stopped it. Donaire is the ****in truth!!!! yeah he was steady the 2nd time but the 1st time he tried to get up showed he was still ****ed - if anyone was in any doubt after seeing him twitching on the ground. Didnt raise his hands, didnt wlak to him when asked. Stupid to let him continue - even if the ref didnt see his twitching. There was more than enough evidence that he was ****ed.

I was gonna make a thread on it after all the commotion died down a bit. Couldn't see Montiels eyes but it was ridiculous that he decided he should continue fighting. Stupid decision on his part. Shouldn't have let him go out there as defenseless as he was and possibly get seriously hurt.

I'm not even talking about the twitching though. this textbook stuff, if the fighter doesn't come to you and is completely unresponsive like that you stop the fight. He didn't see Montiel twitching on the floor and he was up before 10. Also he was the champ. I'm amazed montiel got up from that punch.

Nonito with the perfect counter left hook. Props to Montiel though for getting up, a true Mexican warrior. wasn't a perfect counter left hook... nonito got caught with the right hand. what nonito should've done if he saw the punch coming was duck under and then throw the counter left hook.
