This is a story of the Hurricane. Sure that was a popular song forty years ago about a fighter named Ruben Carter who was wronged by the judicial system. Carter was on his way to a world title shot before he was incarcerated for a crime he never committed. He spent 22 years behind bars never stepping foot into a boxing ring ever again. No one has ever been successful using the name 'Hurricane' since Carter. Peter McNeeley tried but failed in his two minutes of fame, but now there is a new Hurricane coming from the East, and 'she' just might be the one best suited for the name.
Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton, who is coached by Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym, is the current Female WBO Super Bantamweight Champion. A quick fighter who fights on the inside like a Hurricane letting combinations fly. Although not know for her power, she has a fighting style similar to a prime Mike Tyson.
Her next opponent Franchesca "The Chosen One" Alcanter is no push over. She is a tough power hitter, who wants nothing more than to stop the momentum of Julaton. Changing some of her defensive tactics for this fight, Julaton has been sparring with Rodel Mayol, the Pinoy flyweight. She has given him all he could handle in the sessions and in turn he has given her some tips. He has pointed out some flaws that she can improve on. With Roach watching like an ardent fan, it warmed his heart knowing that his fighters all help each other.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Julaton is considered to be one of the fastest rising stars in female boxing and is considered one of the most popular athletes in the Philippines.
