It wasn't an error, it was his choice. It's not like an official point deduction. I could watch a round where a guy gets knocked down 5 times, and it still fully in my right to score that round 10-9 if I deem so fit.
I was just watching Mayweather vs Corrales and Harold did not score the 3 knockdown round a 10-6 because according to him "most judges will not got below 10-7 because it put the other guy too far out of the fight"
Pacman hit Marquez after he was on the canvas, Cortez should have desqualified him, but we know Cortez has a bias towards certain fighters so he didn't.
Humberto Soto was disqualified by Cortez for something much less than what pacquiao hit Marquez.
Going back to the fight, Juan pulled it off at the end even the comentators realize he was winning the fight.
i dont know whats the fuzz about the past fights of manny and jmm all about up to this time. everyone seems to have his own opinion on what supposed to be the scores on those fights and obviously always between fans of manny and fans of jmm/haters of manny. but the glaring truth of this never ending exchanges is the truth that these opinions are based only on watching the "video", which usually used to argue against that of the judges who are ringside. watching video and actually being there during those fights are a lot different. there are factors to consider why judges scored how theyd scored. videos are deceiving, there are angles that video doesnt capture, the mood the feelings the sound when punches landed, the grimace on the faces of the fighters those that shows how a punch can be considered as the "more telling blows" (is that a factor or not? tell me) so many nuances that only being at ringside at that time can only be noticed that any video cant. these differences can best work if the fight is that close, which in the case of jmm/pac it is. lay this issue to rest dammit, its so close anyone can win, its fortunate/unfortunate that pacman won. opinions doesnt count anymore you can argue for a hundred years no one will be declared winner. its just a waste of time.
so next time you watch any fight video just enjoy the fight stop playing like forensic investigator or something because whatever you come up with youll not going to be paid for it.
if you had marquez winning this fight, you are a damn retard
absolute dipsht of the highest order Watch the fight with the sound off, look at the mistakes Manny made rather than looking at him as a fan boy.
Not calling you a fan boy, but thats a where most people go wrong.
Judging ANYTHING is objective. It's pretty easy to see that both men had their moments. However, Marquez' moments stretched over a longer period of time. Therefore, quite a few people are going to side with him.
I think he won the second fight and a draw in the first fight seems fair. Regardless, Pacquiao has the win and Marquez has the rounds. Moving right along...

@check the punch stats. marquez outlanded pac in both fights, so in all it was pac that got the gift in both fights. many people think pac should have 5 loses.
JMM Won more rounds.
PAC should have won if Clements scored the 1st round correctly.
PAC showed a Devastating assault JMM showed incredible resilience.
Draw was fair IMO
I don't really take offense at people scoring of fights as long as it falls in the realm of acceptability. Both those fights were close enough that either man could have won, i though JMM won the first and Manny won the second so shoot me~
You asked the question I gave you my answer, if you don't want to hear that type of opinion don't start a thread about it.
how the hell did marquez win anything from the seventh to the tenth?
im sorry, but that is just stupid, it's actually astonishing how dumb, narrow viewed and obviously biased some people can be, it's so blatant it's just like wow...
anyway, im off to watch a movie, i'll check back tommorrow
im hoping you'll give me a nice breakdown of the seventh-tenth rounds
I haven't watched that fight in a long time that was my card though~
You could give him rounds on a comparison basis but I don't think he really won any of those rounds.
Scoring is an art not a science, sorry I liked the work JMM was doing~
I scored the last ten all for JMM, that was how I had him winning. Round 3 and 4 were pretty shocking since it was unexpected but the rest was just the same thing over and over.
Normally I wouldn't score 10 rounds to one guy like that in a row, but I was keeping a close eye since all the knockdowns meant a comparison round would doom JMM. That is also why I remember my card though since it was unique.

After the first round, I couldn't give Pacquiao another clear round for him other than the 10th. I watch the fight numerous times and I always have JMM winning. Watch the fight closely and correctly and stop focusing on how Pacquiao is winning the fight (a mistake that most fans do when watching fights) and you'll understand why people had him losing that fight. You'll see that JMM did a masterful job at neutralizing Pac's left hand and countered him all night.
I think it's a legitimate draw. I always have it a one point win for either fighter whenever I watch it, and I've watched it plenty. Marquez makes some incredible adjustments and really outfights Pacquiao down the stretch. Pacquiao, however, wins some of the late rounds based on his superior stamina. It's really, really close, but you can't argue that Marquez won more rounds.
