I am excited about it, we have Fedor against Bigfoot and then Arlovski vs Khartinov. Two bad-@ss fights.
Showtime is killing HBO, they have the Super Six, now they have the Strikeforce tournament, and they are talking about doing a CW boxing tournament like the Super Six.
None of those guys know how to wrestle though. Semmy Schilt/HMC/Hunt are K-1 strikers with 0 wrestling experience.
HMC started professionally as a sand wrestler.
Fedor is very slightly overrated, and his opponent is mediocre...and a juicer.
People with giantism can't juice. It be too much on the endocrine system.
He was punished for taking a drug that created a false positive. It even said so on the box.
Im White? Your talking to the wrong person my *****....
MMA fighters aren;t racially based ..... Its all aobut technique... Theres nothing racial based about that...
I said pro white.
Actually Fedor has fought and tooking shots from guys that weigh well over 320 lbs....
i know but this for the argument of anderson silva and fedor being the goat of mma but im more of a fedor fan so i was wondering if silva has ever been heavily outweighed in a match
Actually no one in MMA P4P has a resume even remotely close to what Fedor has accomplished and hes still a great HW.....
He even beat Tim Sylvia(#5 at the time) and Andrei Arlvoski (#2 at the time) consecutively...... Those are the 2 Greatest UFC HW champions in history....
GSP is second........
Anderson Silva is the greatest. Yeah, even in MMA, the greatest fighter there is black. Oh, how terrible for you pro white fans. lol You all went to MMA because thats where whites actually looked good, but now they are being taken out one by one by latinos and blacks just like boxing in the 40's and 50's.
LOL... you are a hater. He is the greatest of all time. No one has a record like him, he has beaten EVERYBODY. He was winning last time and just got careless, but like he said, that loss was a good thing because it showed everyone that he is just a man and can fail.
Bigfoot being a juicer only makes Fedor's victory that much better. He loves beating roided-up fighters like when he beat Mark Coleman.
Goes to show how much you know, loser. Wlad is just as much an over hyped hype job as Fedor. A loser the fan of losers. Oh, the irony.
After what he did to Belfort, I would have to say Anderson Silva is the best MMA fighter of all time.
Fedor is great, but I have started to care less because of all the drama with him.
only fights once a year and then demands a new contract, sends mixed messages about who he wants to fight next and Before Werdum he hadn't faught anybody serious in a long time. But he is still a legend and still great to watch so I will watch his fight at some point.
Fedor sparres with a couple Pro Russian Boxers.......
well, that doesnt exactly mean a lot. even these guys can be pro boxers
not suggesting the guys he spars with are that bad, of course, but even he concedes that Aleksander is better than him at boxing(just boxing), right? I think most people would agree with that anyway. and Aleks didnt do so hot in pro boxing.
and this was against a guy that was also making his pro debut. he had some amateur experience, but amateur is still a few notches below pro.
they would obviously beat the **** out of most people, but when you start comparing them to pro boxers in the top 200...wellllll....
thats fine though, because mma is not based around striking, its based around grappling
I don't like MMA much generally, but thought I'd watch because it was Fedor and he's a legend, etc.
What I saw was a guy who was too small, with insufficient reach, for his opponent. He couldn't get inside to land when they were trading, and took some hard shots himself, and then on the ground he got smoked as well.
Silva kinda makes Valuev look pretty, I'll say that.
Fedor just looked kind of small and sad there at the end. I felt a bit sorry for him.
Maybe he is just shot. I guess he's retiring, or he is heading in that direction.
When you watch mma, dont expect high level striking at all. Fedor even at his best was less than a journeyman boxing equivilant.
and I dont necessarily mean that as an insult, the grappling department is a huge part of mma, standup to them is pretty much a side thing, while grappling is mandatory. skill wise in striking theyre very far below world class guys(with a few exceptions).
thats why my favorite guys in mma were always groundandpound guys, like Kawajiri and Dan Henderson. You will see way better boxing in boxing, better wrestling in wrestling, etc..but you can find ground and pound only in mma.
I think Silva and Kharitonov will be in the finals.I dunno how the seminals are arranged Silva is ****ing beast I've seen him many times throughout the years. Five years ago Fedor would have beaten him. Everyones loses at one time or another and I think this is time for the Last Emperor. He is just really unique individual I've never seen a person so humble, so brilliant. Best of all luck to Fedor the greatest legend in MMA.
No he was very dangerous off his back.... As well on his feet in his Prime.....
He beat guys that weighed over 320 lbs and backed up the most dangerous and feared Kickboxer/Striker in the History in MMA against Prime Cro Cop.....
Didnt I already mention those guys?
and I said 'hes not the best on his back or on his feet'. this is true. His best area was when others were on their back. He could clearly get beaten on his feet or when he was on his back, and had some scares in his past fights in those situations.
its the only problem with being well rounded, you can beat a guy at his weakness, but if you cant get them out of their comfort zone you cant really match them in the discipline that theyre best at.
He's hinting retirement, pretty sad. What people don't realize is that he's a real small heavyweight. I think his inactivity was the problem, and it's sad to say this but guys like Overeem would overpower him.
Always a fukking excuse you pathetic bastard. Fedor is in his prime!!!!! He and the rest of you got owned. hahahahahaha Yeah, brink the red K you butt hurt bittches. hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Get some therapy.
None of those guys know how to wrestle though. Semmy Schilt/HMC/Hunt are K-1 strikers with 0 wrestling experience. Rogers is a full time mechanic and Tim Sylvia is...
Size and strength matters more in MMA than boxing imo, because you can't get back up when someone takes you down and is way stronger than you.
well, styles make fights more in mma even more than boxing. Fedor dealt with Randleman and Coleman pretty well, also Fujita and Herring, but they werent always the best at avoiding submissions.
fair point on Hunt and Choi, but Schilt had been grappling and doing mma for a long time, although not necessarily a wrestler.
I dont think much of Silva. I dont think hes a better wrestler than the ones mentioned above.
