Pacquiao's Advisor: UFC not sport, no skill involved

Manny Pacquiao and Sergio Martinez share something in common: Sampson Lewkowicz. Currently he is Sergio Martinez's advisor. MA: The internet has made boxing huge globally. Is it used to its fullest potential? I believe it is the most positive way to promote boxing and is one of the reasons boxing will never die. MA: HBO has offered some fighters “x” amount of money but the fighters ask for more so sometimes the fights don’t happen. Is that the reason some fights are not happening or is there more to it? No, I believe there is more to it. Because the fighter never has the right at the end of the day to make his own decision, normally it’s being done by the management and the advisers. Boxers will fight everyone and most likely it is bad management or a bad advisor for the reason a fight didn’t happen. MA: Do you feel that the UFC has taken away fans from boxing in the US? Absolutely not! You will rarely see a boxing fan go and watch UFC…most likely it doesn’t happen. There is no technique. I dont know. He hits pretty hard and can take a punch too. If Katsidis can make a living at it I dont see why he cant. come on dog. Katsidis has spent his whole life training to be an elite boxer this conversation ends here. Katsidis went 9 rounds with Marquez. Marquez would ko edgar in 1 round guaranteed.

I love watching MMA... by MMA i mean MIXED MARTIAL ARTS not a fight which both fighters are just trying to overwhelm each other with mostly brazilian jiu jitsu each and everytime. It's rare to see a REAL MMA fight these days.. For me... MMA has lost its real meaning...

I'm an MMA fan and a Boxing fan. But to say that MMA's stand up striking is on par with boxings is just absurd. Sure there are some good strikers in the bunch, GSP, Fedor, etc. But they call Boxing the sweet science for a reason.

I watched Frankie Edgar about an hour ago and it looked like he might be able to crack some heads at welterweight. Footwork looked world class. come on dog no disrespect to frankie but if you put him in with a top 10 welterweight in a boxing ring he would look like he never threw a punch in his life.

MMA Boxing and Pure Boxing is apples and oranges... But to your other statement theres other guys that have had Extensive Professional Boxing Matches and entered in MMA as well as guys that have had won Golden Gloves Tounamnets, Amueter Boxign Matches etc... exactly.. which is ludicrous to suggest MMA involves way more skills or vice versa. The points he made were just dumb.

I love boxing but to say that MMA don't have skills that is absolutely ludacris. Those guys have mad skills and I will watch it also if there is a good card. But I don't find it very exciting and I will not pay for a PPV.

Why do people have to only like one and bash the other? I don't get it, I'm a boxing guy straight up but I'll definitely catch a good MMA card anytime. If that no name clown thinks MMA requires no skill he should check out Anderson Silva, GSP, Jon Jones, Fedor, and the bunch of other talent fighting in MMA.

theres way more skills involved in mma compare to boxing... in mma u have to master the ground game, take down, take down defense, your kicks, your stand up, etc.. as compare to boxing where its all stand up u dont have to worry about getting taken down. choked out, etc.... I hope you're joking, if you've ever laced up gloves you'll the sweet boxing science is incredibly hard. Stand up in boxing is light years away compared to the world of MMA. And I bet some of those boxers would like to be taken down after a fierce barrage of punches thrown at their faces, but no you get a count for that.

Boxing, Kick Boxing, Mauy Thai..... Traditional Martial Arts striking arts such as Wing Chun does not work in MMA.... You can be creative and and try different technniques that are unconventional and unorthodox.... But really MMA striking is consisted of those three areas..... Only guys iv'e seen that use traditional MA style to MMA in are Lyoto Machida and Cung Le... Key word - ground game..?

God I hate boxing extremist who can't appreciate MMA. To say that MMA doesn't take skills is just absurd. I'm a huge boxing fan who prefers boxing over MMA but I still respect and acknowledge MMA as a sport.

I do not know why there is always threads like this I am a Boxing fan and only a boxing fan I do not like mma or any other type of fighting but that does not mean I do not respect it or think it is inferior to Boxing. I dont like mma so I dont talk about it or support it.
