Canelo Alvarez named official challenger for Pacquiao's WBC belt.

Why do they keep trying to put this kid as the number 1 contender? Prior to Pacquiao vs Margarito, Jose Suliaman and the WBC had him there and were willing to set him up for the vacant strap but him team decline stated: 1. Canelo wasn't ready yet and still need more bouts to develop 2. Canelo would rather campaign at 147 and move to 154 later on down the line. All that's gonna happen is Canelo is once again gonna decline (Which is the right move from a managerial/career standpoint) meaning the WBC is wasting their time. IMO Rhodes should be fighting for the vacant strap and for the past year or so, he has been a top contender, only to be treated like a red headed step child. Hopefully the WBC does the right thing and sets up Rhodes vs Angulo or someone like that for the vacant strap. According to the Sulaimangelbra theorem, you offer the belt to those who has the most pull when it comes to paying fans, which looks just like Math 101 to me...

i hope canelo vs chavez jr happens for that belt so canelo can show that *****y that having a legendary last name dont make you great CANELO IS THE TRUTH and cowboy stadium is a great venue but that fights going to stadio azteca in mexico over 100,000 people will fill it not a chance. People need to understand that if they fight now, before building it up, they aren't maximizing the potential of this bout. Both guys are very young and after a few years, championship belts and big wins, this fight will be huge in Mexico. The rivalry is building and with more time this could do huge numbers in Mexico.

hmm alright. But then what? Canelo and Angulo are number 1 and 2 in the WBC rankings. They move to the next fighter which is margarito i think.But he is waiting for a fight with cotto.So they move to the next guy which is rhodes or vanes.

I disagree, I think that Angulo is strong as an ox and tough as nails, Canelo is the better boxer. I don't think they would throw him at Angulo at this point but it would be a great fight for the near future. I want to see Angulo vs Cotto personally. a cotto-angulo sounds great.
