His last fight wasn't even at LW. In his last fight he failed to make 139 three times and had to pay a penalty. On fight night he was 157 :lol1:
I don't know how his camp is going but seems like he will need a lot of discipline to just make the weight.........
anybody spend time with boxers?
brandon rios does NOT look like a lightweight
he carries a whole lot of extra stuff you dont usually see in lightweights
he's got big bones
he's got a big neck and head
check out a video of him the week of the fight
the guy looks like a GHOST
hge's going to make his run at LW last as long as he can
his style is dependent on being able to absorb blows from smaller men
and land his own more powerful ones
he's gearing up for a short career
win a belt at LW
maybe make a high profile defense
move up to 140 where the real beasts are
get in some high profile fights and try and win
and then head off into the sunset with a bank account in the very low millions
I think I read something like that too. And I'm pretty sure I saw a video where Mikey Garcia said Rios is only going to be at 135 for a few more fights then they plan to move him up to 140.
I think that would be a great move. Rios-Maidana later this year would be a war :boxing:
i agree, that would be a very fun violent fight for however long it lasts :boxing:
in an article i read on here i'm pretty sure garcia said two more fights at 135 then hes moving up

Didn't Rios' camp already say they plan to move Rios up in weight soon? I think they said something like IF he beats Miguel Acosta then he'll probly defend the belt a couple times then go up to 140.

yeah but supposedly he was already in training for a while.
He had 3 weeks left to make weight for his fight dec 5.But they offered him
a spot on the manny card, and he took it thinking he would make weight.
I think he was a pound off anyway. No biggie
He didnt make weight cause he had like a week notice to do the fight.
You are right. I was just reading up on this right now and that is what I found out as well. But still, to me it seems his days 135 are numbered. 1 or 2 more fights at the weight and then move up to 140 seems likely.
