There are a number of fighters out there that are older than Khan and still haven't made any real steps up in quality of opposition like Bute, Berto and there are fighters with way more fights who still haven't made the step up like JCC etc.

I was being a bit flip with the Jack Calzaghe remark. The reason I love Calzaghe and Lennox is because they have phenomenal records and they did it all on their lonesome. They didnt need the help of a 6'8 brother to avenge their losses/close decisions. One man vs the world. Wlad is the MOST protected because he is the only guy with a functional bodyguard within the division. This bodyguard protects him from both unfavorable matchups and criticism. Wlad can sign bogus fights and not get criticized as long as Vitali is there to pick up the slack. If anyone is protected out of the 2 its Vitali, you rank Joe Calzaghe number 7 on your all-time list :lol1:

just trying to keep a guy who doesn't have any more fights scheduled out of the convo because its a knee jerk reaction for some pacstans to bring him up. Chavez Jr is not really good so its understandable to keep him away from good opponents. and Kahn been stepping up his game lately but its obvious he was being handled with care specially with Maidana asking for a purse bid before that fight getting done And didnt HBO keep saying during the fght "this is the fight kahn wanted" even tho maidana had to ask for the bid

Agreed. With the amount of professional bouts he has one would think it's time to step up to the plate....but instead he's calling out retired fighters. Toss him in there with cintron or angulo.
