GBP easily. GBP is much smaller.
No, GBP is bigger...
TR has the better quality stable, which is why this cold war is hurting them more.
JMM could have been facing Soto or Rios and giving them a career high payday on HBO, instead they're facing Antillon and Acosta. JMM still gets to make of couple million fighting Morales and then fighting Khan or Guerrero.
GBP still has the HBO deal, a Telefutura deal, an FSN deal, the AEG partnership, etc.
I just realized this, but the more I talk about it, the more I see neither are really hurting from it, which is probably the reason why they're still at odds.
Top Rank will always be superior to Golden Boy Promotions because they know how to groom and market their young fighters, guiding them along the way. Arum was instrumental in getting both Floyd and Oscar to the sort of status and recognition they enjoy today.
Then you look at how Golden Boy manages Ortiz's coming out party. He gets KO'd by Maidana. And quits. He was being highly touted and now he's not really a factor. Canelo will be interesting to watch, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a managerial misstep.
Good looking out..Out of these which can be a star on Pac, Cotto, Level. WE already know the lower weights never do as well as the upper. Which sucks cause they are just as good if not better. Who will be able to step up and be a star?
Couldn't tell you and honestly I don't fret about it. As long as I can still watch them fight it doesn't matter to me.
Donaire, Gamboa, Mikey Garcia, Rios, JuanMa, Magdaleno, Marroquin, Segura...

Who will be able to step up and be a star? Timothy Bradley will be good but he doesnt have that it factor. Hes a great a fighter but just doesnt have "it"
Top Rank is making Pac look bad with these in house fights. Also that shit Arum is doing is pathetic...making fighters leave their promoter just to land a fight with Pac. Back on point, GBP has Abner Mares who is an exciting young man that is destined to be champ, Saul Alvarez with a HUGE Mexican following who has skills but needs a better trainer, Victor Ortiz as long as he don't quit no more, they have Khan who is pretty hyped.
Where are their prospects?
Who are the fresh faces coming through the gyms?
Somebody prove me wrong?

Top Rank has Lopez, Gamboa and Donaire for the future and I think they will sign Wilfredo Vazquez Jr and Tim Bradley. Cotto and Pacquiao will give them 2-3 years more also. GBP has Canelo and Khan but I am not sold on either.
It is the smaller players that feel it the most GBP and Top Rank are both insulated to a great degree since they have much deeper pockets and better connections.
It goes back and forth though and it depends on who has the bigger fighters at the time which changes pretty rapidly.
Once Pac retires where is that going to leave Arum? I think his stable has been used and abused. How many in house fights is he going to have? Which young prospects does he have?
