There's been a lot of talk and complaining about the way Bradley/Alexander ended. Most agree Alexander's interaction with the ringside doctor was suspect to say the least. Let's find out once and for all if NSB considers Devon Alexander to have quit in this fight. If so, why did he quit? Poll to follow, please discuss! :boxing:
He seemed to be in fairly good shape, but I think he knew he was gonna lose the remaining rounds with the cut handicap,so he risked it.Too bad for him it didn't pan out.
this is the 17th official "did devon quit" poll/thread..
the common consensus on this forum is Yes, he quit.
I'll get an official poll up to determine how many more of these threads we need to be sure.
I think he quit, and I agree he might have thought he was ahead or the score cards were as good as they were gonna get. What is it with these american fighters??? they watch too much WWE...alexander was screaming, and doing funny squints with his eyes, and when the decision was being read out he was completely normal. Dirrel also doing his best Vince McMahon impression when he was on the floor twitching around his whole body lol give me a break! I have to question his toughness, I remember ricky hatton fighting carlos maussa a few years back, and he had 2 cuts from headbutts in the first 2 rounds and they were waaaay worse than alexander's.
He fought a stupid fight anyway he was just grabbing and holding so much it was bound to happen, he has no guard at all, why not put your ****ing hands up to protect your face, that is one of the first things you learn in boxing and he never does it.
If he had the heart he would have gone through the pain barrier...sadly he never went through the buddhist training techniques Timmy mastered:

That's some solid photoshop work!
this sh** is soooo bad for the sport
this was meant to be a throwback... both young, both undefeated, both in their primes, both champions, no catchweight bs and it wasnt a big money fight either...
all the stupid things that usually get in the way of gr8 fights had been removed and you decide to QUIT ??
MMA guys are rolling around with blood pouring out everywhere.... Devon was meant to be a future star and instead he disgraced himself, the sport and his title... remember the WBC was the title that Meldrick Taylor defended with every fibre of his being before being stopped in the 12th by jcc
I wouldnt have minded if he just lost.... but QUIT ???
Paulie's right - he's a punk
-Kirby-;10048054']Yup. The headbutt King makes you quit. He lands one of those things flush, it's over that's a wrap. Your will is gone. I don't blame Devon for quitting, just about anyone would. The fact that he fought like a coward that night, I blame him for that.
So your saying the headbutt is so powerful, it's enough by itself to make a man quit but not even knock him down? I would think his desire to quit came more from frustration and his inability to get punches off.

I think he could have continued and was making up the "burning sensation" in both eyes.
You think he thought he was ahead on cards? Or just didn't like the way the fight was going and wanted out.. I didn't think Bradley was beating up too brutally..

Most found it curious he was walking around eyes fine shortly after being incapable of opening his eyes.. Him quitting seems like a forgone conclusion for many, but I'd like to hear from those who think he did not quit.
