Why quit in a close fight that you may be(and he was) losing?
The last headbutt happened on the left eye(which wasn't cut)...the butt was so hard it caused his eye to twitch and he couldn't keep it open...
We could all see him trying to keep it open when the ref asked him...
As far as the burning it may have been from the vaseline(off of Bradley's head) or sweat going into his eye...
Anyone with eyes knows that fight was still on the table, why quit?
Feel free to disagree, but I don't think Devon quit...
*I would have asked for a 5 min break like from a low blow if I was Devon*
Alexander was in a physical brawl with a determined grown man. IMHO Alexander didn't appreciate the butts, elbows, blows to the back of the head, punches in the clinch, etc etc. But here's the catch, he was doing the same damn thing. Bradley simply wanted it more....for me this is an example of putting something in a fighter's head like watch for butts, low blows, etc and when push comes to shove his will got weak and he used an excuse to not have to continue fighting. I think Alexander is a real good fighter but he seems sorta like a mental midget. I don't think he has the determination nor mental capacity to know where he stands during a fight (scorewise) to alter tactics. Sort of like Arthur Abraham. Bradley on the other hand seems determined and tactical During a fight. Almost cerebral. I don't think Alexander is a wuss but he found himself in a sloppy phonebooth type brawl and he wanted no part of that. He prefers to swim and not get wet.
Im not sure if he quit or not but the fact that the butt was on the other eye is suspicious. As far as quitting when the fight is even Kosta Tszu did that against Hatton and he was a very good fighter with an unquestionable heart up to that point.
Oh how easily Boxing fans forget. LOL. Nice one homie.
He quit and the fight wasn't close.
It was also funny that when the doctor was trying to look at his eyes, he kept stalling saying he couldn't open them because it burned,
then,
as soon as he realized the fight was over,
they were wide open with no problems.
His eyes were burning just as much as Campbell seen spots.
LMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!:fing02::fing02::fing02:

"Waaahhhh, it burns!!!! F*ck!!! F*ck!!! It burns!!! AAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!"
Nevermind that he's the one that lunged in head first because he didn't want to exchange with Bradley.
I dont think the Doc asked him if he wanted to continue. He called it off when Devon didn't answer his questions. Either way the only thing comin outta Devon's mouth shoulda been......"I'm alright Doc. Let's go". Either that or he shoulda asked the Doc for 5 to recover.
he got hit on the left side of his head.
but was clutching his right side
I also saw that.
Devon knew he was lagging behind in the scorecards and yet he quit.
I genuinely think Alexander wanted the fight to head to the cards. Bradley was fighting dirty, something Alexander didn't seem to like, it really discouraged him. It was a poor fight due to a bad clash of styles in my opinion, both fighters look cautious throughout.
This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. The best thing to do is get the kid back into another gut check fight. He's got the skills, he just needs the tougher fights. Cunningham shoulda been tellin him to look for the upper cut, cause it was there all night. Fukkin devon just cost me a gang of points. :grumble:
He def quit. His manuerisms said alot. He kept yelling out to trump up the headbutt that wasn't even that flush.
Absolutely. He wanted out; can't see it any other way.
I think he kinda figured "well..it COULD be close now but after 12 rounds it won't be. I don't have alot left so I need out."
You think Dirrell faked it? Interesting. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but it is possible.
That's possible...
I give Dirrell the benefit of the doubt too but I think it was more suspect than this...the punch from Abraham didn't look devastating to me...and Dirrell wasn't taking a beating, he was doing real well until the 11th...but thatz another issue...

Sometimes in a fight, you're going to get cut....
Sometimes in a fight, you're going to sweat...
Sometimes in a fight, the sweat is going to go into your cut...
How you handle it, speaks of your heart, and determination.
Screaming "IT BURNS!!" and complaining about the wrong eye.... that just doesn't do much for you.
.everyone on here is real quick to call someone a coward or a pu$$y...
You are right on that. Guys on here don't even know the courage it takes just to step into the ring with someone let alone a major fight.
I'm not calling him a coward at all....but I do think he quit.

I guess...that's a hell of a gamble...you think he pulled a Zab Judah? (against Clottey) lol
My thought was he was trying to open it but the nerves in his eye kept twitching...the doctor said in an interview(its on BS now) that he thought his nerve was damaged...
He cudda faked it..the yelling didn't help...but idk...
I don't think this is as suspect as Dirrell...
I think he kinda figured "well..it COULD be close now but after 12 rounds it won't be. I don't have alot left so I need out."
It did seem to me like a bad acting job. Boxers are used to being hit with big punches, your just kinda used to it. It still hurts but your used to it, I don't think a true professional is going to be screaming "Ahhhh! Ahhhh""
You think Dirrell faked it? Interesting. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but it is possible.
lmao......... maybe you should take an anatomy class before you start throwing out theories.
Calm down...I'm just being all ears...everyone on here is real quick to call someone a coward or a pu$$y...

Seemed like he was frustrated. I think he thought the score was up for grabs and he wanted a way out. He could've kept going, he chose to quit
