I do not see why everyone is all over his nuts. Kelly Pavlik would of easily tore an ******* on Martinez if he did not have these problems at all. Sergio Martinez is closely overrated near Pacquiao I might add. as a pavlik fan for a good while now, don't know, don't care what you say, it was stylistic nightmare for pavlik. martinez's style would give pavlik's fits every time they fought. i personally think that martinez would beat pavlik at least 7 out of 10 fights...........

Yup Katsidis losing his brother also contribute to his performance against JMM also. In a bad way. And Castillio losing his brother the night before the fight with Hatton, is the reason he lost....

I agree that Martinez is being beyond overrated on this board. Some people on here said that Martinez could beat a PRIME B-Hop. So in that aspect, yeah, peeps treat Martinez like king-ding-a-ling of 160 lbs.. One ko victory and peeps think he can beat one of the best 160lb fighters ever, easily smh.. With that being said, he cracked Pavlik in the later rounds, but Pavlik IMO didnt fight bad. His jab was really effective in the rounds he won and he cut the ring off really well against Martinez in various rounds, and Sergio wasnt looking too "sexy" with that eye getting tapped with Pavlik's jab. Id like to see what a healthy, focused Pavlik would have done.. I still think Pavlik would have had trouble with Martinez either way tho..

hahaha Pavlik got outclassed in that fight. That's why he is not using that rematch in the contract. Because he would be outclassed again drunk or sober...

Kelly got beat, it's his fault he was boozing up during training, not Sergio's. Mayweather is overated IMO, the dude uses vacations and retirements to avoid fighting people. Sergio has never turned away from a challenge unlike Mayweather who just says the person is a nobody and refuses to fight them.

Excuses, Excuses. Styles make fights and Martinez would still give problems to Pavlik. Pavlik has problems with guys who can move around a lot. The fight was competitive going into the 9th round and Martinez did get knocked down BUT Martinez showed why he deserved full credit. Actually in my opinion, Pavlik might've lost worst if it was pre-Hopkins, because he was more tense at the time and after the Behop fight ,he learned from his mistakes. Alcoholism is just an excuse, there have been plenty fighters who had alcohol or drug problems but still kicked his A opponent no problem. Also, lastly...take into account Pavlik's Team requested Martinez and backed out from fighting Williams.

The point is he has balls to fight anyone. Unlike Pac and May. But yeah I still think Floyd will beat him and he might beat Pac but it won't be that easy as other people think. The question is will the two jacka$$es be willing to fight him?

Pavlik was probably a better boxer when he was wasted. Made him loosed up a bit more. Bent his knees and got his slickness together

Chris Arreola never had discipline. Kelly Pavlik on the other hand did. So it didn't ruin Chris Arreola for drinking, he has never been in top shape since he looks like a bloated puffer fish. Kelly Pavlik is in shape. Sorry but, if you need to be placed into rehab for your drinking, I don't think you should call that discipline... I ask you again, do you think this just started? Or is it beyond the realm of logical thinking that Pavlik could have been a drunk for awhile now?
