Before anybody tells me "yo dumbass HBO rejected it" or "It's because Showtime/CBS has a bigger audience you idiot," I know, this isn't about that. Please take this post with a grain of salt, but it does have some truth to it.
It's all about 24/7 vs Fight Camp 360, and how they can market the fight differently. We all know that 24/7 has a narrator and that they often show the fighters' past bouts, talk about them, etc. This is one of the tactics they use to pump up the viewers and create intrigue. Here comes the problem of Mosley last two fights, which don't exactly make you want to press the buy button on your remote. The producers can't just skip those two and talk about how Mosley annihilated Margarito (which I'm sure they would've milked for all they can), and sure they can only emphasize the second round in the Mayweather fight, or talk about how Shane overcame a much larger and awkward Mora, and other BS. But Arum much rather everyone just ignore Mosley's 2010.
This is where Fight Camp 360 is a very attractive alternative. For those who've seen it, the show takes a more real time approach. It has no narration and does not dwell on the fighters' past, but rather shows training, fight camp interactions, their real lives, going to pressers, etc. It is almost like a reality show with the cameraman shadowing the fighters in their day to day activities. Showtime solves the problem of not having to even show footage from Mosley's past two fights, and instead show him training his a$$ off and looking like a beast. And maybe, they'd even have him watch the Margarito fight on a television and sneakily throw it in there like that without having to mention that it was two years ago.
I welcome all the disapproval from die-hard Pacquiao fans.
And Mosley doing the sign language on a little screen at the bottom right.
:D
