Personally, I think the Tyson in his prime.....which was a 20 year old fking beast....was 1 of the best heavyweights we will see
If he was that good at that age, imagine if he could have just continued on that route till he was 26ish+
He would have been a Monster in the game, The explosiveness.....The lateral movement, We dont see Lightweights with his speed in movement, let alone a fkin Heavyweight, this guy was a monster....
Its just a shame it ended how it did.....
I think Prime Tyson beats practically any heavyweight, he just needed to land.....Not saying he would win every fight, but there is no way he would have been ruled out from ANY1...
Holyfield beats any version of tyson, too tough mentally and was no slouch himself

In the only reasonable time period this might have actually happened, I don't think so. By that time Tyson was not mentally strong enough and had strayed far too much from his technical skills to beat Holyfield.
Prime for prime, absolutely Tyson would have been able to beat him. I'd still take prime Evander at heavy over prime Tyson, but I have no confidence in that pick, just a gut feeling.
Mike Tysons career ended the night he went to prison. If Evander had gone up to HW sooner and he and Mike had met sortly after Cus died, Tyson would have creamed him.
I like Tyson to stop Evander if it was Prime Tyson, as in the Tyson who rattled Berbick and co.
Holyfield was almost beaten by a poor mans Mike Tyson in the always fun Bert Cooper
A poor mans Frazier, not Mike Tyson, and it doesnt bare relevance on the match-up, especially if we are talking both fighters at their best.
Wow this is not hard to figure out after the outcomes of both fights. Ok Tyson wasnt considered in his prime skill wise when they fought borh times. But Evander had and will always have the stronger mentality then Tyson. With that said, Evander would have always grinded Tyson down mentally and beat him. Holyfield was like Tyson older brother putting little brother in place. Tyson also could not hurt Holyfield because Evander is a monster over the beast haha and in my opnion a better boxer. Holyfiled= Tyson's daddy. He is the warrior and everthing it defines
Never! Tyson's gameplan is to get inside his opponent but Holyfield's inside fighting skills is just too good for Tyson. Plus that head will always be there to frustrate Mike.
Often wondered about this one. Back before Mike Tyson went to jail, I believed he'd beat Holyfield. Evander had only three fights at heavyweight when the fight was being seriously discussed. When they finally met, after Tyson's stint, I predicted Holyfield would win. (Didn't take a genius.) Hindsight only makes this one harder. Prime for prime, I lean towards a Tyson victory. But we've all seen what a determined adversary with real ability could do to Mike.
The Tyson that came out of Jail was not the same boxer that dismantled Holmes in 4 and destroyed Spinks in a round.
So pre 1990 Tyson wins it for me. This was also the time before Holyfield was allegedly using PEDs
Holyfield would have headbutted him to death no matter which Tyson turned up, but as soon as Tyson left Rooney he looked worse, the first Bruno fight was his first without Rooney and his defense and timing already look shoddy.
Hell yeah. I think Holyfield would be one of hte few people that will take his punches for 12 rounds and go the distance, but there's no doubting who would win.
