I think that Bill Miller might deserve a mention in this. He brought Lindell Holmes to a title aswell as James Toney and Bronco McCart. Lindell Holmes was a bad m-fer, James is self explanatory and Bronco did well in his career. Maybe not top 10 but an honorable mention is certainly deserved. It may be a biased opinon on this but I just love the guy....Rockin':boxing:
co-sign Bill Miller was a legend he turned Toney into an incredible fighter
im not sayin he was one of the greats but i like Orlando Cuellar he has done a tremendous job with Glen Johnson
and what about Gill Clancy?
Roger Mayweather shouldn't be on that list. What notable fighters he trained except for floyd?(who isn't a product of roger anyway, and seems to require little from Roger as it is.. glorified pad holder)
Blackburn should be higher as well.
And in addition to some of the ones listed, Charley Goldman certainly deserves to be on the list I feel. He was brilliant and trained at least 5 world champions IIRC, including Marciano.
1. Cus D' Amato
2. Eddie Futch
3. Freddie Roach
4. Nacho Beristain
5. Lou Duva
6. Emanuel Steward
7. Angelo Dundee
8. Jack Blackburn
9. Teddy Atlas
10. Roger Mayweather
No problem with your opinions(though I disagree) but I heard from a respected retired pro boxer where I am from who trained with Steward that he is overrated and that Dundee was more of a motivator not really a trainer.
Yeah Arcel is missing and it doesnt seem like you have a criteria you should have justifications for picks, but thats a nice set of trainers, good effort.
Keep a spot open for Berto, he's training after retiring.
Berto is already on his way to retirement isnt he? I can usually tell by the low level of opposition someone is facing, and in Andrea's case, he is blazing quickly down the retirement path with the stiffs he's facing.

And what about Tommy Brooks?
I don't think that highly of Atlas as a pro trainer at the highest level. His best moment came when he allegedly "willed" Moorer to the HW title against Holyfield, but if you watch the fight in full, Moorer was still sleepwalking after Atlas would plead with him to take more risks. Atlas is obviously knowledgeable, but his track record as a pro trainer isn't anything special. Hell, Aaron "Put the Condom on the Eye" Snowell has a better track record as a pro trainer than Teddy.
Ray Arcel was a great trainer.
