he was robbed against......................leonard
No way on earth was he robbed against leonard.I saw the fight live at a cinema, and i was embarrassed for Marvin,he looked like he was punching underwater he was that slow.I wasnt a Leonard fan at the time, and was gutted that he had only agreed to fight once he could see how Hagler had declined, plus he got the bigger ring and thumbless gloves that suit boxers as opposed to punchers, however,i am now a massive fan,and have met both guys(leonard is much friendlier)and i can say without bias, there is no way you can watch that fight and give it Hagler. On the live version,he knew he had lost, because he did a silly embarrassing dance, that tried to show he was pleased, but you could tell it was false, and he never did anything like that on any of his fights.LEONARD WON ON RING GENERALSHIP
People forget how versatile he was, to be able to outbox those who are hard to out tough and being able to out tough those who were hard to outbox is such a huge advantage in the sport and so rare.
I completely agree! The footage in the first highlight shows how precise his movement was, he was a beautiful fighter. That is the sweet-science at its best. Movement with purpose, with the intention to do damage.
OP, yes his jab was nasty.
The way Leonard fought is the only way to beat a guy like Hagler~ without just being straight away better than him at everything he does.
You don't battle it out with a fighter that is excellent at battle, you make him force the fight avoiding combat then engage only when it benefits you thus frustrating him thus slowly weakening him hopefully giving you a chance.
