Bernard shouldn't talk about "getting hit" after he was dropped twice in the first 3 rounds. Pacquiao is better than Bhop ever was or could have been. And this is coming from a big Bhop fan.
i had to quote this guy because im not sure whos greater all time out of the 2 but im leaning towards b-hop because of his long career and his long reign at middleweight.
I guess Trinidad, Glenn, Taylor, Pavlik took him lightly also. 4 guys at the very top of their game. He just went to Pascal's hometown and worked him in front of his fans, I'm still waiting for PAC to come to the east coast.
Well Pavilk isnt a HOF and that good anyway, trinidad small dude who werent that great, but could punch hard. JT beat him, so Pavlik probably felt he would as well.
I would think Pascal expects to beat BH in the rematch and do much better, i doubt Cotto thinks he could have beat pac anyday. Cotto said Pac is the best fighter in the world and the best he ever fought. I dont think Pascal did or JC! I dont think RJJ thinks BH is top 3ATG after losing to BH. I doubt DLH thinks BH is better as well, after being pummelled to defeat by pac.
Yes Pac is better than BH but we all knew that. But if you want to discuss whether Floyd is as good as BH that is another story and more comparable.
-Kirby-;9963739']Patience my boy. The time will come. The Prince didn't just magically wake up against Kelley. He had to work to way his way up just like Berto is now. The difference is, Berto's adviser is Al Haymon. He's already a cherry picker. Not only that, alot of people hate his guts. That's money. People want to see him lose.
Also lets not forget he was suppose to goahead and fight Shane. It's not like the earthquake in Haiti magically happened because Berto wanted to pass.
...But Hamed beat Steve Robinson to gain the title, 2 years before facing Kelley, and then beat Manuel Medina, then unified with Tom Johnson in less than two years, which is shorter than the amount of time Berto has held his title.
the difference being that Hamed actually won his title off a champion, and one that was rated in the top 3 of the division, and within his first year of being champ knocked out another top 5 ranked guy, and the year after that KOed the best guy in the division...
Berto has had one controversial fight with a fringe contender, looked bad against a 140lber, and....nope thats it, no other top opponents.

-Kirby-;9963712']Yet, Alexander wasn't even considered to fight Pacquiao. That's the thing about Berto. Sure he's destroying bums like Prince Naseem did back in the day, but he just like Naseem has talent. HBO obviously sees something in him and even though people hate his guts, I have a feeling the kid is gonna be a huge star.

and I agree with you wholeheartedly. Pacquiao did not fight a prime Cotto.
I still dont think Berto is as good as Cotto, since he has done nothing at all to prove it. Hes not even beating up 140lbs like should be, Alexander beat Urango more impressivly than did Berto.

-Kirby-;9963697']Obviously Taylor was still a decent fighter, but he wasn't the fighter he once was just like Cotto. That's what I'm trying to say.

Taylor only got KTFO in a fight he was arguably winning, over someone who controversially lost to Kessler and totally dominated Abraham recently.
He was still a decent fighter.
also Lacy had been shot to **** for forever, it wasnt a big deal at all when Taylor beat him. All three of his wins prior were controversial, most notably against Mendoza who battered him arond the ring, causing Lacy to retire after the bout.
Foreman aint the best fighter, but at least he had beaten an undertrained Dan Santos prior to fighting Cotto.

You were comparing a Todays Taylor, who has lost 4 of his last 5 and 3 of those have been BRUTAL KO's to Berto as who is a better win. So why are you now talking about a Taylor after the Pavlik beatings?
How about comparing Taylor after the 1st Pavlik loss to Cotto after the Marg loss? They were both the sam situation
Were they ever the same? After the 2nd Pavlik win, Taylor won against Jeff Lacy! Jermain Taylor is back! Boom, he gets KTFO. Just like Cotto won against Foreman. Boom, he might get KTFO against a shot Mayorga or a shot Margarito. Like I said only time will tell.
I just don't see your logic honestly.
Cotto lost once, then won twice and a world title in the process. His win over Clottey basically shiits all over Bertos resume
Berto simply being young and hungry does not make him better, otherwise Jan Zaveck and Vyacheslav Senchenko would be better wins then Cotto
No i always said Mosley is a better fight but i would have prefered to see him face berto
See this is exactly what I meant before. Fighting a name based on previous accomplishments. That's the reason why you think Cotto is a better win. Can I ask you something. Who did Clottey beat? Zab Judah, on a downside. Corrales, on a down side. Margarito holds the record of throwing the most punches against him. Is Clottey somehow a bigger win than Quintana?
Also, you say Mosley is a better fight, but why would you want him to fight Berto? According to your logic you think Mosley is a bigger win. Even though he's on a downside. A loss and a controversial draw. But hey, Mosley is a name. So he's obviously a bigger win. Right?
Even in his old age B-Hop is still trying to fight the best and only the best in each division.
Pac has been bullying out of prime fighters for a while since the second Morales fight.
Pac is greater, no contest. BH is still doing well, because his opponents expect an easy fight against him cos of his age, and underestimate him.
They go through the motions of training but dont train directly on how to beat BH, who thinks a lot on how to win as he is a old man. So he has the advantage as far as that goes.
I dont think pascal expects to beat BH in the rematch and dont think BH was anything special, other than he underestimated what the old dog could do, like a lot of people did.
I doubt margarito or cotto or clottey thinks they could have done much better against Pac.
I guess Trinidad, Glenn, Taylor, Pavlik took him lightly also. 4 guys at the very top of their game. He just went to Pascal's hometown and worked him in front of his fans, I'm still waiting for PAC to come to the east coast.
Pac could stay at 140 after he beat Hatton and beat anybody there like B-hop staying at his best weight but it won't mean anything. Pac beating anybody at 140 <<<<<<<<< beating Cotto, Clottey and Margarito. Why not beat anybody at cruiserweight and heavyweight to see how good really he is.
-Kirby-;9963648']Cotto is a special case, just like Taylor was. After getting knocked out the first time he was never the same.
Cotto got a good win in Foreman just like Taylor got a good win in Jeff Lacy. Look what happened to Taylor. Will the same thing happen to Cotto? Only time will time.

I agree. Cotto was diminished ever since the Margarito fight.
Hes still a better win than present day Berto, who has done nothing but get a controversial nod over someone barely top ten.
