Let me start by saying I am a fan of David Haye, and do not think he avoided them out of cowardice. If you've been on the HW threads the past year, you'll see I'm one of his biggest defenders. I have not turned my back on him, I like Wlad and Haye both. But in light of whats happened this week, here are my thoughts:
It's time for him to change his attitude if he wants to save his career. I realize he's got the WBA title. I realize that financially he may be a bigger draw than either Klitschko. I realize that his attitude and style have brought a little attention back to the division. And i've always sympathized with his argument. But none of that **** matters now.
Why? Because he's out of options. Wlad and Vitali have signed the two most truely viable heavyweight opponents in Solis and Adamek. Haye has no one to fight.
Here's a realistics list of Haye's options:
Denis Boystov - (WBA #2) - Solid young fighter, but unknown. And he is out with yet another hand injury.
So forget Boystov.
Alexander Povetkin (WBA #3) - Just fired his trainer and was injured in his last fight. I don't think anyone would believe Haye's or Povetkin's people are interested in taking the risk.
So forget Povetkin.
Nicolay Valuev - (WBA #6) - Haye owes him a rematch, but it's uncertain if Nikolay wil ever return to the ring. The first fight was also so god-awful I don't see this getting made.
Forget Valuev.
Jean Marc Mormek (WBA #8) - Recently called out Haye for a rematch. The first fight was a pretty good scrap, but Mormek has done nothing at heavyweight.
Mormek, perhaps? REALLY?
Who else? Hasim Rahman is ranked #5 and is a former champ, and Robert Helenius, WBA #11, has a European title (right?)
Outside of Povetkin, which is very unlikely to happen, all of these fights are ****ing awful. It's time for Haye to swallow his pride and do everything in his power to fight Wladimir in July. Maybe he should get into contact with HBO and see if they're interested in forking over any cash to broadcast a fight with Chagaev or whoever in America in April?
Haye now has to go to his knees and beg if he wants to get the Klitschko payday and be able to retire with "his head held high." I am throughly impressed.
Well played, Team Klitschko. Well played.
Haye should have fought Wlad or Vitali. I don't know if people are going to pay to see him fight another bad boxer. And its risky for him to fight a good boxer before fighting Wlad or Vitali.
povetkin fired atlas??
yep, but it's too late, Atlas already ruined him, he turned one of the best amateurs ever into a vagina of Gayevid's proportions. Without Atlas, Povetkin would have faced Wlad by now for $2.5 million. Instead he just got hurt for peanuts against a journeyman named Firtha and thinking about going to the amateurs.
There are no similarities except the big mouth Gayevid has like Floyd. Floyd is going into the IBHOF, so is Pac and so are both Klitschkos. Gayevid isn't even smelling the HOF. Floyd also never faked an injury to get out of a fight with Pac.
I never said the fighters were similar cuz' they're not at all.
I said the fans of all 4 fighters are similar.
Hence in the bold.
I swear Klitchkso fans and Haye fans are the HW version of Floyd fans and Pac fans.
Arguing who is the bigger draw, they downplay the other fighters accomplishment and resume even though a win over said fighter would be the best win of their careers. They call the other fighter a ducker. They act like little kids by coming with such childish nicknames for one another.
It is a lot similarities.

When is out the norm and for the biggest fight of your career then it will make anybody question the real intentions behind it. And, to sign a fight for September will make anybody that is not a Klitschko fanatic skeptical.
If people look at Wlad history as a champ. And, if they think him signing to have 3 fights in a span of 20 weeks or so is not quite strange. Then I don't know what to tell you.
Gayevid is not Wlad's biggest fight of his career. What has Gayevid done to have that honor bestowed upon him, who has he beaten? Adamek has accomplished more at this point than Gayevid. Like all the Klitschko haters say, to be great you have to beat someone great, who has Gayevid beaten? If Gayevid were to retire this year without a Klitschko win, will he be in the HOF? Hell no. Wlad doesn't need Gayevid, he is already in the HOF without him, so is Vitaly. Other than a big mouth, t-shirts, and making a lot of unfullfiled promises, Gayevid hasn't done sh*t at HW. The fraud should just retire now, he is never going to get the balls to fight a Klitshko.
Chris Arreola would be a good fight. Have that in America and on HBO. That's pretty much the only acceptable fight here.
How about your favorite HW Chambers?
This is what's wrong with boxing. Too often elite fighters do not fight frequently enough and when someone suggests they do, it's a big fvcking deal.

No, the best case scenario is for both to have no interim fights and fight in July. I don't get the logic to suggest otherwise.
The 2nd best scenario if they need to have an interim fight is to have one in March for both. But, Wlad chose April 30 for some reason while Vitaly gets the March date against Solis. I'm pretty the could flip flop the dates if Wlad was really serious in fighting Haye in July.

Excellent post. Besides, Adamek is getting the Wlad fight, and he deserves it WAY MORE than Haye does.
not really who has he fought and beaten so well that he deserves it more? maybe Fat Areola, I wouldn't say that he deserves it more. Haye would easily KO Adamek it wouldn't even be fun for Adamek, Adamek is no risk to a Klitschko thats why that fight is happening

I haven't been keeping up with much boxing news lately, but when did this happen?? He fired Atlas?
I think the problem with scheduling a fight so far out into the future is that there is more time for something to go wrong forcing a cancellation. I'd say two months is a sufficient amount of time to get ready for a big fight. It's not like the either fighter is going to be 'out of shape' and both Haye and Klitschko have had several years to scout each other and devise game plans.
IMO the best case scenario would have been for both Haye and Klitschko to fight interim bouts and then meet up in July. I still don't know why that was not a viable option for Team Haye.

I thought Adamek was being lined up for either brother, there's nothing confirming that it will Wlad, as of yet.
Adamek an Wlad said it will be Wlad, the only reason it won't be is if Wlad picks up an injury.
Or maybe because, he would have to fight in May and not be ready for a beast like Wlad in July?
Why risk having an injury or a cut. Why not just stop the BS and fight July. Have enough to train and do all the promotions that you have to do for the biggest of fight of both careers.
But, I guess that is too much to ask for the HW champ.

There is nothing stopping the fight but Haye refusal to get it done, Wlad is signing with Adamek now because maybe he is tried of having his time wasted by this ducker.
The only reason to sign the Adamek fight now is to avoid Haye, it will still be there after the Chisora fight.
It would be the first time Wlad has fought opponents within 9 weeks as champion. This is arguably the biggest fight of his career, just seems a nit bizarre to me.
Haye could have his fight in March still, plenty of time to get a mando out of the way and fight Wlad..........or drop his paper title since he is such a big star that it won't matter anyway.
He was offered the fight as he has been for 2 and half years and always turns it down, Haye is clearly the one stopping the fight as usual.
Wlad knew that fighting Chisora would **** up the fight but did it anyway. But it's Haye that's stopping the fight?
Is it Haye making Wlad sign to fight Adamek too?
