Gone down on who? Vitali?
imo even at this stage of his career Vitaly is better then Wlad and most opponents would rather fight the chinny Wlad instead of Vitaly.
Not really. I think he'd fight Haye after his stated retirement date. Wlad's just ****ing him around because he knows Haye wants to retire on the payday.
It was Haye not Wlad who turned down the July 2 fight.
As I asked in another thread, why does he have to fight his mandatory if Wlad fights Chisora but not fight him if he doesn't fight Chisora? That makes absolutely no sense.
And Klitschko has fought two opponents that close before . . it was awhile back, but he fought Wolfgramm and then just over a month later fought David Bostice. Fighting a month or two apart used to be very commonplace when fighters actually "fought" for a living.
And Vitali fought Johnson nine weeks after Arreola.
Haye is a master of self-promotion and apparently has convinced some Brits he actually wants to fight a Klitschko. But he's only played his cards cunningly and clearly has no intention to. From his self-imposed retirement to his ruckus over Wlad fighting a no-hoper, it seems clear to me Haye is the one here doing the flagrant ducking.
Because the WBA gave Haye permission to postpone his mandatory for a unification fight. It's not a guaranteed unification fight if Wlad fights Chisora (because he could lose) before Haye. So the WBA are forcing Haye to fight his mandatory.
I would like to see some sort of article that say's the WBA would strip Haye or make him fight his mandatory if Wlad takes a Chisora fight. I think this would end this debate of who ducked who in this situation.
Who really cares anyway. The HW division as a whole is insignificant. The more I think about it Wlad/Haye would be boring anyway. I wanna see Haye/Vitaly more. Vit would force Haye to fight.
Aside from the hype and the exctiement of the build up (which is a product of good advertising and falsely raised expectations) I can't see it being anything other than a one-sided bore, with maybe one good (ie competitive) round in the first, and a slow-sustained beatdown the rest of the way. In other words, Lewis vs Tyson II, but with a lot more posturing and unwillingness to engage.

The WBA are forcing nothing. They don't care if Wlad fights Chisora first.
Haye is a liar.
Making excusses to the end but everyone can clearly see Wlad ducked Haye. That's cuz he knew he'd get knocked the fuuk out.

Funny how you talk just like WladIsTheChamp and Steelhammer2011. You have all these facts down like you've been reading boxing rec just like those other two, and Haye is always the one to blame no matter what. No wonder everyone thinks those are your ALT's. Its true, they are.
Yes, I always thought the Klitschko's were desperate to fight Haye and they made it seem like they'd do anything to make it happen. But, it was all a facade.
I think its the sort of thing that most commonly happens in boxing...ego's get in the way. I think Wlad's always been irritated that a bit more exciting black British fighter jumps up in weight and people are all chanting Haye's name whereas Wlad's ruled the division for a couple of years and never got the enthusiasm that most people showed for Haye when he stepped up. Remember boxing is a mental game up to the first bell and Wlad doesn't wanna give anything away, its basically giving into Haye's demands. But if Wlad wanted to show he was the bigger dude, he shouldve just said, "fck it, ill wait till july" and see if Haye was bluffing or not. either way, the fans are again royally screwed.
we could always blame khan for taking up that april tv date lol
No, not really.
Had he actually pulled out of the Haye bout and went on to fight some no-hoper like Chauncy Welliver instead then it would be a different matter. He didn't pull out. He arranged a tune up in the interim which, for some reason, Haye took exception to and went off on one. That's his business, not Wlad's.
I don't really see how any sane person can see this as a duck.
Yes i have lost some respect for wlad! I really thought he takes on anyone to prove hes the best!
Anyway i always rated vitali higher than him and this wont change!
Vitali is the Number 1 Heavyweight!
This is pretty much how I feel. He's never been a favourite fighter of mine but I've always respected him. He's gone down a fair way in my estimations.
