He went from being underrated after the Prescott fight to being overrated. This isn't a hate thread, it's just my opinion. I'm still not sold on his chin and we have to remember that Maidana had just gone life and death with frigging Demarcus Corley. On top of that, Khan probably would've been stopped if that fight had gone on for another round or too.
I think Khan loses to both Bradley and JMM if any of those fights happen.
Khan's got a respectable collection of wins. He's recovered nicely since the Prescott massacre.
I don't think too highly of his skills though. He still seems to be getting by largely on his physical gifts and his skills are very unrefined. No inside game, flawed footwork, poor defense. Obviously his round 1 bodyshot that dropped Maidana was terrific, and I did like the way he caught Maidana with some short right uppercuts (I think round 8) as Maidana was coming in.
I don't expect him to be anything more than a decent champ though. Some people think of him as being this "thing of the future" and I don't see it. He had a distinguished amateur career and still is sloppy and makes these fundamental errors. Despite his speed, not much else impresses me. Sure you can say, "well he's only 24 and he has Roach, look at Manny before, etc...". Well expecting someone to be like Manny Pacquiao, he's most likely going to wind up short.
Khan fought really similar to the way Cotto does at the end of that fight. Landing shoe shine punches with no damage and back pedaling. I really don't think his stamina would hold up against Bradley, although the thing that makes that fight even is the fact that Bradley is a lot shorter and don't punch as hard. JMM is smaller too so that makes that an even fight. I'm not saying Khan can't beat these guys. But people just automatically assume he does and that's wrong in my view. Their stamina is better than Khan's.
This part I do agree with. JMM and Bradley would both be competitive fights with Khan. Khan wouldn't just run through them(atleast I don't think he will).
-Kirby-;9922964']Really who cares? I don't. I like Amir Khan and Sergio Martinez. It's NOT like people are saying they're like Leonard or Duran. Seriously.
seriously. big fan of Martinez, but he doesn't come close to those guys.
and i might be the only one that remembers him having a knack for taking breaks in between fights.
against Williams (in the first fight); the moment Martinez decided to slow down a bit, Williams quickly picked up the pace and started racking up points himself.
the 2nd fight would have had some similarity as well, but Martinez made sure it would not go past 2 rounds.
but still, Martinez FTW :notworthy

There's a strong case that in the days of 15 rounders and without Joe Cortez, we'd be reading Khan's eulogy right now and that's the point I'm trying to make.
That's the thing though. We're not in the 15 rounder days and It's not like Amir Fans(Atleast to my knowledge) are calling him the next Sugar Ray Robinson or something.
He's not Jean Pascal where "legit" writers thought he would be the next Roy Jones Jr. That's the definition of overrated.
Did Joe Cortez protect Amir? Well that's up for opinion, and in my opinion he did. He still withstood the round and the rest of the fight. Marcos Maidana is an animal meng. He's no joke.
But of course it is your opinion.

Right on Homie!! I dont see nothing special about that Fukker!! A lot opf people on here are talkin mad nonsense about how everyone is ducking him. They think he is an elite fighter like, pacquiao, Mayweather, and JMM. They need to get off that crack!!! Just tired of all this hype on that idiot!! JMM will school that wannabe Capone-E!! cant wait for that fight to happen. But according to everyone on here JMM has been ducking him beacause they havent agreed on the fight. It has never been proven or no one has ever heard JMM say that he dont want to fight KHAN, its been the other way around, KHAN ducked JMM when he was a lightweight. He was JMM's number contender but chose not to fight him and moved to 140. Now hes calling out JMM and expects JMM to fight him under all his conditions. What a Biatch ass Diva!!
Khan was coming back at the end of round 12, and maidana was completely knackered by that point. If anything, the momentum was with khan at the end
I'd favour khan over bradley, just based on his speed/jab/movement. I can see it being a competitve fight though.
Just my 2 cents - i'm sure you could make a strong case for bradley beating khan. I guess we'll find out later this year if bradley gets past alexander
Someone mentioned Sergio Martinez being overrated, and there may be some truth to that because Williams and Pavlik were fighters who are very easy to hit. But we still have to have someone beat Martinez to prove that and nobody has come close here lately since the first fight with Paul and Williams didn't even really deserve the win.
