"Abraham is a very strong fighter and he doesn't throw a high volume of punches. I don't know if it's because of his conditioning. He says he leaves it all in the ring and in his fight with Carl Froch, he left it all in the ring. Rest assured, I'm going to be prepared and bring it. Once again, we should have a good fight because I'm not ready to go home and he doesn't want to go home. Stylistically, I think you're going to see the same Arthur Abraham," stated super middleweight champion Andre Ward as he talked about his next upcoming showdown with Arthur Abraham in the Super Six tournament.

AA will fight exactly how he is used to fighting. He's not changing his style overnight, IMO.
That's the thing about Ward that frustrates me, man. He can just take a step or two back and pop combinations but for some reason he doesn't do that enough. He easily could've stopped Green this way since Green was DEAD that night.
He has no excuse for not stopping Green that night and taking a step back to give himself more room would have done the trick. Green was dead for the entire second half of the fight, so doing that at any time could have gotten him the stoppage that night.
The problem is that Ward has settled into that inside fighting style and once he begins fighting that way, it seems he can't stop.
I agree, I don't expect Abraham to change much at this stage of his career.
you expecting him to stand in center of ring woth hnad on his head n get outboxed for 12rounds?
AA will fight exactly how he is used to fighting. He's not changing his style overnight, IMO.
He doesn't have to change his style, he just has to take more risks, something he looked reluctant to do until late on against Froch, but this time it's all or nothing, for not just the tournament but arguably his career.
abraham should've fought like a desperate man against froch and he stood there for half an hour. i don't see any reason to expect anything different this time around
You have the right attitude. I had huge expectations for the Dirrell and Froch fights, and look how those turned out. So for this one let's just assume that Abraham will be getting very badly beaten, and then maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised. :fingersx:
Unfortunately he'll be staying with Wegner. Who's a very respected trainer but as shown is very limited and is holding Arthur back. It probably is too late to change anything anyway, but I would have liked to see him give one last shot with another trainer. I pray that those two overcome their pride for a minute and admit their awful mistakes, train their a$$ off, and put everything on the line with Ward.
I hate to be pessimistic, but Abraham convinced me that he really would be changing things up for the Froch fight, taking it to him early, blah blah. I trusted him once, and am reluctant to do so. But I'm not some phony fan who drops their favorite fighter after a bad night, especially two subsequent ones. I'm gonna stick it out with him and win or lose against Ward, I'll still remember the good days at middleweight.
I see this fight as a good fight, abraham has to come out and try to force ward back from 1st bell. Ward will try to do his usual stuff, hold, clinch n headbutt
How many breaks you think AA will get? I've noticed that he somehow always gets long breaks after being hit with body shots even in detroit he somehow got extra time. Will he demand a pure blooded German doctor in his corner as well?
i see ward outboxing abraham, but if he gets flatfooted he'll be staring at the ceiling
Nah, Ward will do the exact same he did to Bika and fight on the inside, despite him being better served fighting on the outside.
I see Ward as an inside fighter that will be drawn into an inside fight if his opponent wants it there. Ward can box good from the outside, but he's shown that he isn't like Bradley, who will take the fight where he's better served, he'll fight it on the inside whether it's better or worse for him.
The fight will be better and more competitive because of it.
lol it's hard to forget. i had high expectations for aa in this tourny
Yeah, me too. I was yelling curse words at my t.v. for 12 rounds during this fight.
abraham should've fought like a desperate man against froch and he stood there for half an hour. i don't see any reason to expect anything different this time around
Let's not think about the Froch fight. It's depressing.

Abraham will fight like a desperate man, he's lost his last two fights and is staring retirement in the face. It could be a Kessler type performance (v Froch) from Abraham and Ward could get the shock of his career from those heavy hands.
Man I hope so. He needs to come out guns blazing. Someone needs to put an end to the Ward foul fest. I'm American btw.
hate to say it since i've been a fan of aa for awhile, but he's in for a long night against ward. imo it'll be much worse for him than the froch and dirrell fights.
u make it seem like AA has skill on the inside. he doesnt. hes a medium range fighter, meaning he needs distance to throw those huge punches he ususally throws. on the inside, he still doesnt win this fight. his punches will get smothered. i dont see any way that he wins this fight.
but of course ppl will still cheer for him and his limited style and make up excuses as to why he loses to ward, because this is boxingscene.
c'mon man, even if AA doesn't have inside skills, ward will still be there to be hit with heavy hands. i ain't saying that ward isn't gonna win, i'm just saying that it won't be as easy or effortless as how froch beat AA if ward fights his usual hug-n-hit fight. Also, but being close to AA, he's in danger of getting fouled by AA. we seen how AA acts when he gets frustrated. he'll start fouling and fighting dirty.

AA wouldn't throw punches against dirrell and froch because they were out of range. against ward, if ward fights the hug-n-hit style, he'll be right in front of AA to get punched.

AA just isnt active enough. IDK wut his problem is but he needs to let his hands go. he looked god awful against froch and dirrell
