Why not? in 2009, Vitali fought Chris Arreola in late September and then Kevin Johnson in early December? Wladimir fought 14 times in 1997. It's not possible for both fights to be signed for at the same time. By Wladimir signing to fight Chisora, Haye can't sign to fight Wladimir because Haye's mandatory extension stipulates that both parties involved must be non-committed. That's the problem.

Wladimar is pulling all the shots to avoid a fight with Haye. I can see right through him, he is blatantly baiting Haye into a fight with Vitali. A sad state of affairs if you ask me, Haye is going to have to give in to Wladimar wishes by going for Vitali first.

This is a high end business deal involving multiple parties with multiple interests and a collossal marketing strategy that plays out over weeks and months. This is prizefighting on a grand scale, there is no place for tune-ups in this equation. Maybe there is still some hope of this fight being made later in the year (although I'm not confident after hearing Haye on the radio today) but the July 2nd date is toast and the fault for that lays at Wladimir's door.

He is several levels above Chisora and if Haye lost to him it would be disastrous for his career. This is ignoring the fact that Sky would be unwilling to broadcast a Haye - Chagaev fight so close to a Khan PPV, and Haye-Klitschko PPV. There are lots of reasons why fighting a tune-up is bad idea.

Why is Haye so concerned with how much time Klitschko would have to prepare for a July 2 fight? It doesn't affect his own preparations. If anything it could be an advantage for Haye if Klitschko hasn't fully recovered from the bout with Chisora.
