Don't know how to post a poll being a noob and all. But choices are George Foreman vs Michael Moorer, B-hop vs Kelly Pavlik, Shane Mosley against a younger Margarito, and Glen Johnson vs Allan Green. For me, I'll break it down Moorer-Foreman Moorer was outboxing Foreman but left himself open in the later rounds and that was all it took. Bang! out like a light. B-hop-Pavlik I believe B-hop was a 4-1 underdog coming in sure didn't fight like it and spanked Pavlik over twelve. Shane-Margarito Shane was a 4-1 underdog as well and I never even expected the beating that he would give him Mosley just came in on terminator mode. Annilation and I go for annilation which leads to draw with Johnson-Green. I myself figured Johnson would be weight drained to make 168 and boy was I wrong knocked Green out like he was meant to be in that weight class. Once again I've only kept up with boxing in my lifetime and I'm thirty if you can think of other examples by all please post them.
In general, not just one fight:
I think Hopkins deserves the crown of putting beat downs on younger top proven fighters consistently.
Pascal 28, Hopkins 45 and was underdog
Pavlik 26, Hopkins 43-44 and was underdog
Trinidad 28, Hopkins 35 and was underdog
You can also add notable mentions like Calzaghe who was like 7-8 years younger than Hopkins and Hopkins fought a pretty close fight with him, some say Hopkins won.
Same with Taylor in his 20's, Hopkins put up 2 close fights with him at the age of 39-40.
You can also add De La Hoya, Hopkins was like 38 when he fucked up De La Hoya, DLH was 30-31.
Larry Holmes against Marvis Frazier, even Holmes was asking the ref to stop the fight on round #1
He brutalised him.
Anyway mine would be Ali vs Foreman.
Calzaghe vs Lacy easily.
the biggest dismantlings in boxing all rank in the number one spot, in recent years.
calzaghe-lacy
hopkins-pavlik
mosley-margarito
you can say, all that lost, were never really the same again.............
@ jri don't know how. Like I said I was noob don't know the ropes yet. Can tell me how?
Just go to the top of your first post and click on Thread tools and add a poll
Although it wasn't necessarily a "beatdown", I enjoyed watching Larry Holmes use his savvy and skills to beat a younger Ray Mercer. Mercer turned pro late, at 27, so he was 31 at the time, but still 11 years younger than Larry. Holmes went to the ropes and took Ray to school there.
Some of my other favorite "older fighter beats younger fighter" performances.
Bernard Hopkins-Kelly Pavlik
Bernard Hopkins-Felix Trinidad
Iran Barkley-Darrin Van Horn
Roberto Duran-Davey Moore
Roberto Duran-Iran Barkley
All good picks here. enjoyed watching Holmess/Mercer as well. Holmes is def. underrated.
I thought Mercer killed Tommy with that KO
So did I, any time I’m ask what was the most brutal KO I have ever seen I almost always seem to mention this Mercer/Tommy fight.

I think the ref was Tony Perez and if I remember correctly he’s known for letting fights progress long after the fighter was shot to sh!t.

i was thinking 'man, that ref must really hate Tommy'
it was like a 20punch combo that should have been stopped after 5 :lol1:

Not a bad pick, in fact that the fight that put Calzaghe on the map regarding the American mainstream but I don’t remember Calzaghe being as heavy an underdog as Shane when he fought Margarito.
i believe Ray Mercer was 31(?) when he made Tommy Morrison's (22) head look like a speedbag
LMAO! he bounced that bwoys head off the ropes like it was a basketball

When you create a new thread scroll all the way to the bottom where it ask you if you would like to add poll and click in check box where it says yes.
Here’s a test, create a new thread in this forum and ask (with a poll) who’s the bigger F@G Iceta or Pistol Whip.
I’m sure the results would be dead even.
