They say Charley Burley was the best never to win a title and Sam Langford too, also Harry Willis.
More modern? Just my opinion here - Ibeabuchi, Katsidis & Jamie Moore
Herol 'Bomber' Graham.
Had all the skills and was the first good fighter to come out of Brendon Ingles gym.
At the time the low hands, swerve and reflex defence was new to British Boxing, obviously Naseem Hamed brought it forward. Also Clinton Woods, Junior Witter and Johnny Nelson from time to time.
Graham had all the skill and could punch but his punch resistance was questionable. The most famous of his fights was against Julian Jackson where Graham dominated for four rounds then was famously one punched KO'd!
1-Baby Arezmindi won the NYSAC World featherweight title but is not considered a champion go figure
2-Librado Andrade still has time
3-Rodolfo Baby Casanova Banta beat Juan Zurita 3 or 4 times Baby Arezmendi, Kid Azteca and Henry Armstrong
4-Kid Azteca beat Fritzie Zivic, Ceferino Garcia x3
5-Art THE REAL GOLDEN BOY Aragon got 1 title shot :dead1:
6-Cicsco Andrade
7-Battling Torres
David Tua.........
i was going to write his name down as he was the closest i could think of, but then i thought, "this guys wasnt great, he was good, but not great"
but thats just my opinion.
to be great you have to be above the majority of your peers whilst sizing up well against history
Sam Langford
Bennie Briscoe
Harry Wills
Charley Burley
Eddie Booker
Holman Williams
Tyrone Everett may have been a great fighter, if not for his wife killing him for his love for trannies. Damn near everyone agrees he should've gotten the decision over Alfredo Escalera.
Gerry Penalosa is/was a pretty good little fighter who did a lot of good in the ring but i dont think ever won the strap. i could be wrong though with so many belts running around
just asking the question, "can you be great if you havent been a champ? or are you just OK / good?"
nit picking i know, sorry. but still interested in replies.
