That movie is so good!! Robert De Niro is too good in the movie, He becomes Jake Lamotta!! Joe Pesci is also great, Everything is good, the fight scenes are brutally good, the family story and fight between Lamotta and his brother is great!! What you guys think?? Second IMO is" Cinderella Man"

1) Gladiator
2) The Great White Hype
3) Diggstown
Critically speaking, the best film about boxing is "Raging Bull."
The best overall film about boxing is "Rocky." The original is still fun and inspiring to me, even though I've seen it dozens of times.
Best documentary about boxing: "Unforgivable Blackness," about Jack Johnson. Close runner-up: "The Last Round," about George Chuvalo and his bout with Muhammad Ali.
Best classic film about boxing: "Requiem for a Heavyweight," with Anthony Quinn. Any real boxing fan has got to appreciate the cameos by (the then) Cassius Clay and Willie Pep, among others.
When you think about it, there have been more good movies about boxing than about any other sport.
It was a good movie!! if it was a man role instead of a women role it would of been probably the best boxing movie ever!!!
no way, the woman role make it unique
if it was man role it will be like rocky copycat.

i just saw the fighter a week ago, surprisingly is way better than i expected.
but it still didnt beat raging bull and ROCKY though.
1. Raging Bull
2. Rocky
3. Million Dollar Baby
4. The Cinderella Man
5. The Fighter
Raging Bull is one of the greatest movies ever made, not just a great boxing movie.
The other Rocky movies are fun, but dumb fun. I enjoyed Ali to an extent, but it certainly wasn't great. I'd like to see some of the older fight films, but I wouldn't know where to start.
My favorite,

I've never actually seen that movie in full. Just the end, which is pretty fukked up.
Raging Bull, Rocky II, Cinderella Man are my favorites. I don't like Will Smith and I heard it sucked so I have never seen Ali and also not seen the Hurricane. If you know a lot about Micky Ward and Dicky Ecklund and their stories then The Fighter will not be great to you. It is a good movie regardless, but the way they ended it took a lot away from the movie in my opinion. I guess you will just have to see it to know what I mean. Also I'm not a big Mark E Mark fan but Christian Bale had an outstanding performance in that movie.
Great White hope with James Earl Jones is my favorite but all the movies about boxers that are suposed to be biographies are really just dramatisations losely based on the fighters story.
I bought the Blu Ray edition this week. I saw it twice, I think Rocky is better but Raging Bull is a close 2nd, great documentary on the life of jake la motta.
LaMotta was a lot worse in real life, at least according to his autobiography.

Forrest Gump! I saw it for the first time on tv just the other night. It reminded me of Floyd immediately on this part of the movie:
Mrs. Gump: Remember what I told you, Forrest. You're no different than anybody else is. Did you hear what I said, Forrest? You're the same as everybody else. You are no different.
Principal: Your boy's... different, Miz Gump. His IQ's 75.
Mrs. Gump: Well, we're all different, Mr. Hancock. There must be something that can be done?
Principal: Is there a Mr. Gump, Miz Gump?
Mrs. Gump: He's on vacation.
Young Forrest Gump: Mama. What's vacation?
Mrs. Gump: Vacation's when you go somewhere... and you never come back.
