Dan Rafael-
Arum tells me Cotto fights March 12, probably in Vegas. Potential opponents he said are Martirosyan, Wolak or Mayorga. Says it will be PPV.
Arum not happy that HBO is planning to go against his PPV on March 12 with a live HBO fight.
Arum: 'If they (HBO) want to do a show against our pay-per-view, that is a major development between HBO & ourselves.'
:pat:
>.> The Cotto would be on HBO for free while competing an independent Top Rank PPV that is the issue. Cotto's tune-up is not going to be on HBO, and HBO is not going to pass up any chance to broadcast a Cotto fight he is a draw. Arum is just pissed because he knows no one will watch his fight if Cotto's on HBO at the same time, and he can simply delay his PPV a week or let it go on anyway, no one is going to watch it anyway.
WTF are you talking about?

LMAO
Cotto-Mayorga would be hilarious, I wonder what type of sh!t he would talk to Cotto, and how Cotto will respond to it.
I like the Vanes or Mayorga fights, I don't think they're PPV worthy tho.
Arum and Cotto turned down HBO's proposed December fight with Cintron.
They also turned down Cotto/Martinez for the March 12 date.
If Arum wants to protect Cotto until he cashes in on a Marg/Cotto rematch, that's his business, but the world of boxing doesn't revolve around him.
The fights must go on.
Why isn't HBO paying for Cotto vs Vanes? and wasn't the March 12 show the Alvarez card on HBO?
Come on, give Cotto the $$$ and have him fight someone decent on HBO. He is the third biggest draw in the sport.
