I didnt see no TKO. I saw vitali beating the piss out of lewis then the ref having to stop the fight on "cuts" What an idiotic comment!!! Do you understand boxing mate? The object is to either outscore your opponent by landing scoring punches, round by round or......to stop your opponent either by KO or injury caused by punches. Vitali was hit and cut badly, therefore it is exactly the same as another TKO. The cut was not caused by a clash of heads or any sort of foul but by a well delivered punch.

Lets follow up on that logic. Who is the current Chin proof, Iron Chin of Boxing. Margarito? No, he got chin checked, so did P.Will, so did Andrade. Ok then, lets use Alfredo Angulo for this example shall we. He has a pretty good chin. It's been tested and he hasn't been hurt or Tko'd yet. So Alfredo Angulo is ahead on the scorecard and bam, he gets cut, his opponent is in the fight starting to bounce back, things are getting interested. But wait, the doctor looks at the cut and stop the fight.......GAME OVER. A guy who was yet to be Ko'd or hurt, Mr. Unknockoutable suffers his first TKO loss. Now how would that look. And Angulo goes on to never get TKO'd again. That would like a damn lost. What other way would it be looked as? And, it should count as a lost and their should be no excuses about it.

Don't twist my words out of context. I never said that Lewis didn't cause the cut. But It doesn't matter if Lewis caused the cut or not, he didn't TKO Klitschko or injure him to the point that Vitali either quit on his own, his corner stopped it, or the ref stopped it. It was a forced stoppage and Vitali could've still won the fight (I.E. the scorecards). And I emphasize the word "COULD", before you go on a rant that Vitali was starting to get broken down. As I said, we can all speculate on what could've/would've happened had it continued, and we both would probably be biased. Vitaly suffered a bad cut...If anybody says otherwise it just a joke because it was a serious cut. Lewis caused that cut. The fight was stopped and right fully cuz his eye was in bad shape cuz of that cut which Lewis caused. So I fail to see the controversy. I fail to see how somehow that lost doesn't really count Vitaly. Because, he was winning on the scorecards for 6 rounds? So the fuck what.

Vitali got a freak injury in the 2nd round and he still dominated Byrd. One armed Vitali dominated Byrd. Did he or did he not quit? Marcel Cerdan went 9 rounds with Lamotta with just one arm...9 rounds...not with a feather fisted fighter but the raging bull. That is what a fighter does with a freak injury... You tried to use a retarded ass logic but the fact is that Vitaly quit against Byrd. When other fighters have toughen out with an injury and go the distance especially a fight that they dominated. You do understand that the fight was stopped by the ref without Vitali's consent, do you? He protested and wanted to continue. So when you say stoppage or TKO, it's not exactly the same as the countless opponents who quit on their stool and fail to come out for the next round, or the ref stoppage because a fighter is taking too much punishment. That's why when I say "Vitali was ahead on the scorecards" is relevant to the argument. The man who was ahead and was still in the fight, and willing to fight on, was prohibited to continue. So when a fighter scores a come from behind stoppage victory it should not count cuz they were losing on the scorecards and we don't know what would of happen if it would of continued so it doesn't count? Hell I think prime George Foreman would have killed Vitali. Young foreman is why Ali's health deteriorated later on in life.

Here is the thing. Lets buy your theory, fine. Since you put a Asterisk around that fight and what happened, it's only fair to the same in Vitali's favor, don't you think. Fine, Vitali was in great shape and he was supposed to fight some other guy on the same card. The thing is, a rematch needed to happen for all kinds of reasons. For the reason you stated, Lewis in fighting shape. And two, Vitali was green, wet behind his ears on the high level stage. It was his intro into the Championship level, and we all know what happened since Lewis didn't face him again, he dominated ever since. A rematch would've resoleved a lot, we would've seen a better shaped Lewis Vs a perhaps improved Vitali, who learned something facing Lewis. OR MAYBE NOT, maybe the story is that Lewis was past his prime, Vitali struggled and therefore LEWIS >>> VITALI end of argument. A rematch is fine, but if Lennox wanted felt that he nothing else to prove, he wanted to go out on top, I will not knock him. I didn't knock Vitaly either when he went on his little retirement instead of fighting Rahman a fight that he postponed numerous times cuz of an injury so why would I know Lennox for retiring. I agree with you on some of that ..no doubt that most HW's from the past could not beat them but Lewis & maybe tyson in his prime they would have trouble and lewis has beat vitali so i just dont know what most people see in them..they cant help that there no great fights for the but that does help them look better than they are

I'm not buying that excuse. I give Lennox more credit than that. He did that for the first Rahman fight, which was only two fights ago. You mean to tell me, he went back to doing exactly that only after two wins following that Ko loss? Has he not learned anything. Me thinks that while perhaps not in the greatest shape of his career, he was still in pretty good shape, it's just that he fought a guy his own size and weight, who was leaning on him and wearing him out. It's much easier stamina wise, to punch down at a 5'11 former shell of himself than it is to punch up at a 6'7 guy. Sidenote: Might not be relevant, but he did tell the HBO commentators that he was in great shape when they were interviewing him just a few weeks before the Vitali fight. All fighters say they were in great shape even though they're not. That is like the biggest cliche in boxing especially for older fighters "I'm in the best shape of my life" "I feel strong" and blah blah... He came weighed in the heaviest he has ever for a fight. And, no I don't think he learned his lesson. I didn't think he saw Kirk Johnson as a threat and I don't think he saw Vitaly as a threat either FWIW cuz choosing him to fight in short notice the way he did.
