I like to watch both of these guys fight, no doubt. And I would have loved to see this many years ago. But, I don't see the point in Marquez' camp even taking this fight into consideration at this moment. I'm just not certain as to how competitive Erik can even be against Juan right now. There are better fights out there for Marquez between 135 and 140. But, I may be wrong, perhaps someone here can persuade me to believe otherwise.
because Marquez is ducking Humberto Soto.
Soto has tried to fight Marquez for years, but Marquez (just like Pacman, Barrera, Morales, Valero (when he was alive)), are too scared of Soto's brutal pulverizing left hook.
Morales is now considering fighting JMM (despite ducking him in the late 1990's/early 2000's), cause he's also ducking Humberto Soto.
Your F*ckin stupid stfu and get off his nutts, even if marquez were to fight soto, he'd kill him. :boxing:
Ducketts, why would Morales pursue Marquez at a point where he obviously isn't at the top of his game, but Marquez seems to be getting only better (at least in his offense). If anything, Marquez seems more dangerous to me now than when he fought Barrera, which I felt he lost. Marquez, to me, seems to have gotten a little faster and his combination punching and selection has become pretty frightening.

I think the reason is because Marquez's next fight might be against his mandatory, Robert Guerrero. He does not want to fight Guerrero because ever since the Daud Yordan fight, Guerrero has been quite boring.
