In all seriousness, I just wanted your opinions on this. Why do people who fight Wlad and lose sometimes never fight again? Is it just that they know they can't ever be the best?
Calvin Brock
Sultan Ibragimov (so far)
Eddie Chambers (so far)
Maybe there's more, but seems to be a pattern.
A loss like that weighs on guys mentally. It's not like anyone *almost* beats Wlad or Vitali, it's always complete domination en route to a one-sided loss.
It's got to be real hard for guys to get back to work in the gym, when they know in their hearts they can never, ever beat the Klitschkos and become world champion.
I assume most of them take their big Klitschko hand-out and go party and spend time with their families.
Simple. Because they’re embarrassed to having lost to such a pathetic champion. The Klitheads have set out to RUIN boxing.
David Haye will DETROY them both next year. He could even fight and beat them both at the same time
Oh ok, it's because they lost to a pathetic champion. Got it.
Calvin Brock fought Eddie Chambers after fighting Wlad. The Chambers-Wlad fight was only 9 months ago.
Yeah true, I forgot about that one. I think Wlad ruined him though.
It's because that was the biggest payday and the biggest ass whooping they are ever going to get in pro boxing unless they want to try and fight Vitali like Peter did. He even went back for more against Wladdy. He's got a lot of money now but damn he took a beating.
They reached the pinnacle and they aren't getting any farther so why fight anymore...

brock was forced to retire after an eye injury he suffered in the chambers fight
ibragimov invested and banked his money and is now seeing the millions he's earned grow every year...
chambers is probably the only one severely discouraged, fat eddy gave it everything and even lost a good amount of flab for the klitschko fight. he might not be as broken as arreola though
as the other guys have already said...he usually shuts them out in 1 sided fashion and slowly destroys their confidence. we ALL know what happens when your confidence is destroyed...it's a long and slow recovery.
i think a lot of these guys just simply know they dont have the tools to get where they want to get...the top....it must be soul destroying knowing you have given everything but you simply are no where near good enough and probably wont ever be...talk about setting goals and seeing them get crushed and losing confidence to boot....catch .22 situation.
when you work hard for a shot at the title, and you lose its demoralising, you know hpow hard you worked to get your shot and dont feellike putting that work in again.
